so, this song "black & gold" gets a mention on popbitch this week as being like "mainlining sunlight". not sure about that -- nothing with a bassline like this could be compared to sunlight. it's rather more like "marvin gaye meets electroclash", as my old kentucky blog put it.
and that was back in november. the more i hunt about, the more it seems this thing's been knocking about since august, but no-one seems to know or care. anyone else heard it?

if 'Cottonmouth' was by Jamie Lidell i'd probably like it a lot more. the album production is OK here and there but pretty wishy-washy on the whole.
