Capital Swamp: The DC Resource Thread

We post here.

But am curious why. The choice of bands highlighted?

curmudgeon, Thursday, 19 February 2015 20:21 (eleven years ago)

director of film getting interviewed himself in movie?

Not enough Void?

curmudgeon, Thursday, 19 February 2015 20:29 (eleven years ago)

the footage of void used for example was from youtube, like screen-capped directly from it, made even more obvious when projected on a big screen. all the supposed self-documentation that took place in this scene and this was full of nothing new beyond a few mildly amusing talking head quotes. just a boring hodge-podge

I kinda liked it, although a friend thought there was too much 84 and later stuff. I wanted thorough interviews with members of the Bad Brains. Even if HR is uh, hard to talk to now, why not talk with Darryl jennifer or Dr. Know? But they didn't do that. My zine did appear on screen quickly though...

Maybe you'll like Punk the Capital better when that finally gets released

curmudgeon, Thursday, 19 February 2015 20:59 (eleven years ago)

that one looks promising. salad days felt too much like a vanity project or something

ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ (am0n), Thursday, 19 February 2015 21:11 (eleven years ago)

two months pass...

By vanity project I guess you mean that the director showed his then 13 year old self in the film, and had his current self in it too. I was ok with that. Saw it again recently, and I asked Scott afterwards about no Bad Brains interviews. He said they did 2 HR interviews but HR was sadly not together and responsive. He says they tried to talk with others from the band but it never worked out.

Did you read the Mark Jenkins and Marc Andersen book Dance of Days? Or did you see the just reissued photo book Banned in DC?
