yknow, i wouldn't know. somehow my isolee files are in some hidden spot on my external, and i didn't import them again when Apple had to clear eeverything out.

that said, i remember liking 'rest' more than anything. but i was also truly and seriously depressed when that was the case.

i do have an abounding love for 'western store' tho.

Rest is a truly amazing record (and not "sickly" in the least).

i don't know if sickly is a good word. i don't know music theory, but the notes in rest are weird sounding to me. maybe someone with some education can explain it.

"Sickly" seems like an appropriate word to me - Rest is filled with decaying, discomforting, discordant synthesiser sounds, it's one of the best things about it!

Tim, it's apt in a way, but "sickly" without your expanded explanation sounds simply negative and dismissive.

yeah, okay no confusion. it sounds dark and scary. the notes aren't... regular notes. and i've heard it described that way before so i know i'm not alone.

but they are both such good albums.

There was quite a bit of discussion on their relative merits in the We Are Monster thread if I remember correctly.
