Hats of music.

I remember reading some interview on the guy from Jamiroquai, where he explained that he wore those silly hats so that people wouldn't pay attention to his race. I thought he just wore them because he was going bald. Or did imagine this whole thing?

Anyway, what are some other famous hats in music? And why?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

that guy from Mr Big made top hats cool again in 1991

Come again?

Tom D., Tuesday, 22 January 2008 12:15 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I thought that was weird too! But that's what I remember was his explanation.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

He's committed a race-hat crime

Tom D., Tuesday, 22 January 2008 12:22 (eighteen years ago)

that guy from Mr Big Guns N Roses made top hats cool again in 19911987.

Yeah, I remember that guy from Guns 'n Roses who always had the hat and his hair covering his face. Was he really ugly or why did he do that?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 16:52 (eighteen years ago)

Ugly

Tom D., Tuesday, 22 January 2008 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I remember that guy from Guns 'n Roses who always had the hat and his hair covering his face

Is this faux-naiveity, or can you really not remember what this guy's called?

chap, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

finn-naivety

Tom D., Tuesday, 22 January 2008 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, Hattyhead. Then they replaced him with someone who always wore a bucket on his head. He was called Buckethead.

I'm joking, of course.

Mark G, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 17:02 (eighteen years ago)

he wore hats so Axl would not notice he was black.

sexyDancer, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

Tuomas, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

Couldn't find a picture, but Noddy Holder from Slade with his mirrored hat.
And also Jason Pebworth from Orson, adding to the proof that hat = going bald.

Instead of just posting pics I'd love to hear more analysis of hats in relation to music.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

hats make a musician look more like a instrument

sexyDancer, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 20:03 (eighteen years ago)

some good musicians wear hats. so do some bad ones. similarly, both good and bad musicians sometimes don't wear any hats. there you go.

xpost to tuomas.

ailsa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 20:05 (eighteen years ago)

Some hats look silly. Some hats are more kind of twattish. Some are quite cool. Hats.
