P-funkboyneuname will probably be the only one who has heard of half of these bands, but that's okay, i'm wondering what he thinks of them.

the new Sons of Alpha Centauri album is cool. Instrumental riff/stoner rock. very cool riffs. I like this band.

all these bands are kinda post-everything. most from the u.k. lots of american influences.

Zonderhoof are super nice guys, closest thing my homestead has to Melvins or Keelhaul. I've put on Flatlands once and seen them a couple of other times, pretty good. I have a Naked Shit CDR that I might have got to the end of once. Didn't get into that Sons of Alpha Centurai album TBH

Zonderhoof have the best gangsta doom song-title: "All Your Witches And Bitches".

As leader of the Anti-Clauberg Opera Brigade (est. 2004) I feel moved to comment. As a reasonable, honest, hard-working human being, I do not feel I should have to share the earth with these execrable, decadent mongrels. So far removed are they from any sense of shame, responsibility or decency, their very presence on this planet makes me sick to the stomach. For over three years now I have been working to put a stop to their foul little band. You might not know what they are really like, so let me enlighten you.

They lie, cheat, steal and find the whole debacle uproariously funny. They don't even appear in their own photographs half the time. I play in a well-respected band on the pub rock circuit, and at one time had no problem whatsoever with the Opera. However, for seemingly no real reason at all, in May 2004 they decided to pull the kind of adolescent trick that makes no sense to me at all. They decided to completely assume the guise of my band for two whole weeks. They announced themselves as my band during gigs, answered interview questions in the way they thought my band would answer them and re-designed their Myspace page to look exactly like ours. I once cornered the drummer to ask him what the point was; "the seagull follows the trawler", was his fittingly inane response. How any of you can endorse what they do is beyond me.

I'm not alone in my loathing of them. The Brigade is now forty three (official) members strong, with one very clear goal: to end The Clauberg Opera with immediate effect. Our motto? "Against all odds".

I call upon you all to boycott their gigs. Take note: they don't always play under the name The Clauberg Opera. They are occasionally billed as The Cuntberg Resistance, or as I've already explained, sometimes find it amusing to appropriate the name of another band that already exists. They are devious, juvenile and chameleon-esque. Fuck them, fuck what they do and fuck those who encourage it.

I have to agree with Jimmy Lee. I hate The Clauberg Opera and want very much to kill them. I tried to get local magazine Sandman behind me but they don't want to know. They are OPERA ENABLERS just like the rest of you.

Fuck The Clauberg Opera.

Let's kill them at their next gig.

Bloodlust, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 10:20 (eighteen years ago)

To Jimmy Lee...

I think you're taking this a tad seriously. However I feel The Clauberg Opera do the odd thing that crosses the line. For example, I saw them in Hull a few months ago and the gig was going swimmingly until one of the band members wearing an Iraq flag whipped out a red distress flare and paraded it around the venue showering us with sparks.

I wouldn't mind but it is the venue staff who have to clean that up!

However this unfortunate event has not clouded my judgement and I have still voted for The Clauberg Opera.

Also love Amenra! Those two guys should tour together!!
