You know, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Parts of this are based on wikipedia (the Miriam Makeba and Kingston Trio versions, which I haven't heard). The Nylons cover was the first I heard when I was 8 or so--that's more personal history. I finally heard the version attributed to Linda last week, so I'm obviously voting for that. What a history.

The version by Solomon Linda's Original Evening Birds is on Golden Afrique 3, which came out about 18 months ago.

all these versions are good. i guess i prefer the original. makeba's version is pretty inventive though.
