I thought Basement Jaxx were from Croydon?

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 31 January 2008 12:51 (eighteen years ago)

I think one of them's from Leicester. I'd count them as a London band, though. I might vote for Mark Morrison.

chap, Thursday, 31 January 2008 12:53 (eighteen years ago)

Family... by about a million miles. Esp. if Basement Jaxx are actually from Croydon.

Tom D., Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:00 (eighteen years ago)

How do I edit this? I should have included The Freed Unit and Kookie Monster...

flowersdie, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:05 (eighteen years ago)

Camberwell, innit? World of difference there.

William Bloody Swygart, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:18 (eighteen years ago)

Family by an immense margin.

Dingbod Kesterson, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:19 (eighteen years ago)

I should have included The Freed Unit and Kookie Monster

No.

MJ Hibbert, definitely!

Although I haven't heard Family. Do you think I'd like them?

Grandpont Genie, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmmmmmmm, probably not

Tom D., Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

Tho I actually don't know what music you do like!

Tom D., Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:24 (eighteen years ago)

has to be gaye bykers.
in fact, its surely time to dig out nosedive karma out of the archive ..

mark e, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:24 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for Cornershop. The "Bulldoze Leicester" option appears to be missing.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:26 (eighteen years ago)

I think the big omission is Yeah Yeah Noh.
Voted for Prolapse in the end. Young Knives tempting, especially for actual local refs on succesful-ish album in Loughborough Suicides. Cornershop almost pulled me away too, but enjoyed Prolapse live more. Kasabian soft-spot not soft enough to compete with Linda-Mick love.
Do Family have an album cover with an illustration of them scoring a goal dressed in the 70s LCFC kit? I could have sworn I saw it once, but can't find a pic online.

woofwoofwoof, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:33 (eighteen years ago)

I was trying to remember Yeah Yeah Noh!

Charlie Whitney arrives late into the box to see Roger Chapman forcing a save from ?????, while Rob Townsend looks on admiringly

Tom D., Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:40 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks! I'm glad it wasn't a dream.
Hoping Kasabian model any future best of on that

woofwoofwoof, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:51 (eighteen years ago)

Kasabian best of = 6-0 away drubbing at Coalville.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 31 January 2008 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

PROLAPSE: Classic or Dud

someone should do a thread

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 31 January 2008 14:13 (eighteen years ago)

Butbutbut the Young Knives are from Ashby de la Zouch! A world of difference!

Felix Buxton of B.Jaxx is from a Leicestershire village; his dad's the local vicar.

mike t-diva, Thursday, 31 January 2008 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

i'm not getting involved in this thread, pixie boy

zappi, Thursday, 31 January 2008 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

aw go awn, ghostie.

flowersdie, Thursday, 31 January 2008 17:57 (eighteen years ago)

Only Mr Wiltshire would exploit a nice poll like this to sneakily pimp his band!

dan o, Thursday, 31 January 2008 20:52 (eighteen years ago)

It was quite subtle, for me, I thought.

flowersdie, Friday, 1 February 2008 09:37 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Thursday, 14 February 2008 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for My Awesome Compilation.

Fer Ark, Thursday, 14 February 2008 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

No Blab Happy, no credibility.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 15 February 2008 23:25 (eighteen years ago)

The "Bulldoze Leicester" option appears to be missing

Fuck off. I like it here.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 15 February 2008 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

Felix Buxton of B.Jaxx is from a Leicestershire village; his dad's the local vicar.

Ibstock to be precise, and I think his dad is now a vicar in Loughborough. Anymore Leicestershire news - you know who to ask.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 15 February 2008 23:35 (eighteen years ago)

I shared rooms at Poly with some bloke from GBOA briefly. He was quite irritating.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 15 February 2008 23:36 (eighteen years ago)

I shared a house with that scottish ranty one from prolapse. He used to like collecting ceramic monkeys.
