Tupac - dead! The Troutman brothers - dead! Whoever Suge Knight takes a disliking to before inevitably going back inside - probably dead! Any other notorious songs where all or most of the creators died untimely deaths soon after?

Of course, I won't be responsible for what happens to anyone who responds to this 'cursed' question!

isn't "Hotel California" cursed too? Anton LeVey supposedly tho not really in the sleeve photo and something something.

and the beach boys "fire" session started all those fires.

and the white album's effect on the manson family could kinda be seen as a curse (and they were all hooked up with the beach boys too).

maybe California is a curse.

If that were true, Fritz, something infathomably terrible would've happened to the Eagles. Possibly involving drowning in a septic tank or something.

we can always hope.

Too soon to call it a trend, but "Whipping Post" has done in Duane Allman, Berry Oakley and Frank Zappa. Good Lord, consider it a warning.

Or what about "Bring It On Home To Me"? It's a commonly-covered song (& a great one!), but performers have included three murder victims (Sam Cooke, King Curtis & John Lennon), two crash victims (Otis Redding & Dave Prater), and probably scores of Those Who Died Young (Clyde McPhatter, Ted Hawkins, Chas Chandler, Bill Haley). Michael Bolton, you may be next!

Wasn't there all that talk about the Stones refusing to play "Sympathy for the Devil" circa Altamont? Probably `cos it made for great press, although if you watch the Maysles documentary, most of the trouble at said hippy death-knell gala goes down during a turgid airing of "Under My Thumb."

A schoolfriend of mine once claimed he mysteriously blacked out while listening to the Marilyn Manson track "1996". I think he was bullshitting, though.

Not a song as such, but some of David Bowie's duet partners seem to have kicked the bucket shortly after performing with the man himself. I'm thinking mainly of Marc Bolan and Bing Crosby, not sure if there are any other examples! Sadly, Mick Jagger is still with us.

Also, Freddie Merc. Fortunately, Marianne Faithfull, Lulu & Cher are still with us...

Genesis' "Back in N.Y.C." (originally from Lamb Lies Down in Broadway) was covered independently by Kevin Gilbert and Jeff Buckley. Both are dead.

What's little known is that they killed each other.
