Im liking it.

I'm totally digging it. No idea what the lovely lass is singing about, but it's got a great hook. The fact that she has an absolutely spectacular midriff has *NOTHING* to do with it, I assure you. Apparently, she's currently touring with Mary J. Blige -- seems like an odd pairing to me, no?

I'm totally digging it.

I'm giving it six months before Alex starts posting to the Gathering about all that Killing Joke pabulum they like, while chanting "HONOUR THE BOOTY!"

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 2 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Res/Mary J. Blige isn't as odd as one might think. Mary is more obviously hip-hop and Res is more obviously guitar-pop/soul, but there are definitely similarities there. Personally, I'm ecstatic that this song is taking off over here because I lurve it.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 2 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't place who Res sounds like? Is it Stevie Nicks? I love the song as well.

Chris, Thursday, 2 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

She's kinda got that Tasmin Archer "Sleeping Sattelite" vibe....only she's better lookin'....and a good deal funkier.

Alex in NYC, Thursday, 2 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
The song itself has a great flow of melody. Great composition backed by a rockin' singer.

Laurie, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I LOVE THIS SONG! I'm glad to see someone else comparing it to Stevie Nicks, it totally has an early Stevie/Fleetwood Mac vibe---and I mean that in a good way!---which younger listeners might not pick up on. At the same time it is uniquely its own, and is extremely refreshing in the context of what currently passes for pop music.

jermaine (jnoble), Thursday, 29 September 2005 12:13 (nineteen years ago)

Great great song and the one that samples The Cure's "Other Voices" bassline is pretty amazing too.

Baaderonixx and the hedonistic gluttons (baaderonixx), Thursday, 29 September 2005 12:17 (nineteen years ago)

its a toss-up. sometimes i really like "golden boys" but most of the time its "they say vision" for me.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 29 September 2005 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

i completely forgot about "golden boys." i played the hell out of that song at the end of 2002.

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 29 September 2005 13:02 (nineteen years ago)

Getting back into Res. She re-recorded her debut and it’s still great and everything BUT she got rid of the Cure bass line on Let Love!

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Saturday, 26 April 2025 16:52 (one week ago)

Ok just saw another thread got revived and the same point was made, so never mind
