I don't think Bananarama looks better in the second pic, but they certainly look more dated in the first. Not that it's a bad thing.

It's Kiss - I can't see the "before" pic but I think it's them with the makeup.
― snoball, Monday, 4 February 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)
I didn't even know Kiss took their make-up off! I guess the members of Lordi learnt from that, because they refuse to publicize any pictures of them without the monster masks.

I don't see much difference between the two pics, except that in the second one the band (dunno what band it is) looks somewhat less gothy.

Two things stike me about that second Killing Joke photo - Jaz Coleman's nice buttons, and the attempt by the guy at the far right to pull something out of his arse - probably a decent tune.

See, right here is where I'd post one pic of Charlie George (footballer), with one where he tried to become a popstar in a sort of David Bowie/Brett Smiley vein, during a brief 'retirement' he had in the early seventies. I remember seeing pictures of this in some popfanmag that briefly existed in the early seventies.
But I have never seen those pics on the internet, or anywhere else since then.
So, hey.
― Mark G, Wednesday, 6 February 2008 11:42 (seventeen years ago)
Never mind what he's wearing, Bowie's chiclet teeth are a whole issue by themselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtrjZRQ8TzU
― snoball, Wednesday, 6 February 2008 14:00 (seventeen years ago)
Is that satirical?
― roxymuzak, Wednesday, 6 February 2008 20:14 (seventeen years ago)
I don't think it's satirical. First guy in that clip is a plastic surgeon working in London. The celebrity dentist near the end works in Hollywood/LA. I knew that Bowie was a smoker, but 40-50 a day? OK so he's quit now, but fucking hell, no wonder his voice sounds shot to shit... I don't know what documentary the clip is from - it's narrated by Stuart MacConie, which doesn't help narrow it down.
― snoball, Wednesday, 6 February 2008 20:28 (seventeen years ago)
Pft, changing his teeth... That's an insult to his British heritage!
