From the stage in Detroit, Kid Rock will jet to the stage in Los Angeles to perform at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, the second time he has performed on the show. Kid Rock will join legend Keely Smith in performing “That Ole Black Magic.” Keely Smith was the first woman to ever win a Grammy, at the first ceremony fifty years ago.

It is both great (compared with any other funk album of 2007) AND a little bit meh (compared with previous Chaka stuff and/or classic jamz). SOLVED.

On a more serious note, awarding record of the year to that Rehab song over Umbrella has got to be one of the more egregious outrages in a category that's an outrage just about every year. Last year some un-enjoyed Dixie Chicks number beat out a Gnarls Barkley record that clearly mashed up the galaxy. Two years ago it was a Green Day snoozer over both Hollaback Girl and Gold Digger.
