Wot? No 80s/early 90s soul/RnB/New Jack Swing Revival?

There were loads of groups like The Style Council, Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai*, etc all reviving the soul, disco and funk sounds of 10 to 20 years prior. Why isn't there anyone now trying to sound like Chaka Khan or Zapp or Bobby Brown or Morris Day or whatever? Why no Teddy Riley or Jam & Lewis style production?

*Don't think these groups were any cop, mind.

Isn't the style around still, only with more recent technology and a slightly different, more miminalist and rhythm oriented, aesthetic?

Not really. I guess some of The Neptunes' stuff is like that, but it's not exactly retro.

Yeah, there's one called Smooth FM that plays this stuff a fair bit, but I mean new acts.
