I like Jose Feliciano's opening and closing themes for "Chico and the Man"? (Anyone know how to get hold of that closing theme?)

("From the Morning" in particular)
The first answer is the right one. Lindsay Buckingham owns all guitar threads.
'Cocaine' by Jackson Browne is good too (I only have a live version, no idea if the original is fingerstyle or not).

Yeah, but have you heard the first song off his newest disc: Not Too Late? The glissando effect of his acoustic guitar is pretty amazing. Not as catchy as Never Going Back, but maybe more impressive.

(Not Too Late is the first song on the new disc, Under The Skin. Sorry that wasn't clear before).
― Daniel, Esq., Wednesday, 20 February 2008 21:39 (seventeen years ago)
"Never Going Back" is proving very difficult rhythmically for me to play. Newfound respect.

for more lindsey buckingham greatness search for the ;_;-tastic "Say Goodbye" w/ Fleetwood Mac and also his kickass rendition of Donovan's "To Try For The Sun"

I love Buckingham, too, but jaxon is OTM above when it comes to Mississippi John Hurt.

hey I'm a long time lurker, occasional poster blahblahblah...
anyways, a friend of mine just self-released an album of fingerstyle guitar last week and its really good stuff. So with this thread popping up it seemed like too great a coincendence, which is why I'm being a pal and spreading the word. Besides, I imagine some of y'all might be into it. Its a bit Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges inspired and on some tracks he uses a harp guitar...
So,heres a link to the songs which you can stream or download:
www.tremolite.net/Acoustic.html
if you like it and would like to torrent the whole album:

Also, I would be curious to know what people who don't know him personally think about it, so please post any criticisms, praise, etc.
oh, and his name is Tad Piecka.

WTF @ THIS

Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Exercise 1 Prepare some Eats: The Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar Soup
Two Handfuls of Potatos, One Handful of Onions, Some Garlic, Three or Four Carrots, A Pot big enough to fit all three handfuls, the some garlic, and the carrots. Wash the potatos and carrots. Put water in the pot. Chop up the Potatos and thow em in the pot. (don't bother peeling them) Add Salt Peel the carrots and chop em up--throw into the acoustic guitar soup pot Chop up the onions and garlic..add these when the potatos are nearly soft, about two full songs. add the onions and garlic, leave to cook while you play another song. Throw it all in a blender. If you don't have a blender just kinda mash it with a spoon or a whisp, or a masher or use a Steffan Grossman HOw to play Uptight Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar Book.
Here's a tip about getting the skins off of garlic
pull a clove off the bulb of garlic put the clove of garlic on the table, skin still on grab a knife use the flat side of the knife and the palm of your fingerpicking hand to crush the garlic clove. Then pull the skin off of the garlic clove. Ok, so the Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar soup is here for refernce whenever you need it.
The 'acoutic fingerstyle guitar' soup is a basic soup. It's Excersise 1.
