The man's output is so vast that it's hard to pin down what's worth searching out. I know his 60's and 70's work is the best place to start, but where ? Inspired by a recent listen to his work with Maria Bethania and also Milton Nascimento. At points his voice reminds me of a fusion of the Venezuelan band Los Terricolas with hints of early Iglesias (which will probably make many cringe, but really is an apt reference for funky 70's Spanish romantic songs heavy on the strings and Rhodes. An italian song that flirts with this kind of sound would be L'Appuntamento - Omella Vanoni.
