I could have added (from Norway) to the title, but I didn't.
Anyway, I thought this group deserves a topic here because I saw them at By:Larm today (the Norwegian equivalent of MIDEM) and they put on one of the most impressive live acts I have ever seen.
Two hours before I was at a really crowded Lykke Li gig, and she was great and put on a marvellous show, but whatever she did was still overshadowed by Superfamily.
I already have the "Warszawa" album, and I know they are great musically - sort of a more synth/pop-oriented The Killers, or alternatively a combination of Simple Minds, Ultravox and Alphaville with slight added rock elements.
Yet, I haven't seen them live before and I have no idea they put on such a brilliant show. They started with "L'Internationale" being played over the speakers before they arrived onstage in a sort of military style, and with matching suits. The rest of the way, singer Steven Wilson (not a Norwegian ;) ) did an impressive show, but the rest of the band also participated, including two backup singers who would torture him to "death" at the end of the act. Absolutely marvellous. And this for a band that are not at all a comedy band, but rather an excellent pop band.

They're awesome (I voted Warszawa #1 in last year's Idolator poll). If they ever play in the US, I'd drive a reasonable distance to see them.

I just love this band, they just keep getting better and better, the production is stellar, the arrangements, the addictive quality of their tracks
the are definitely the best melodic pop-rock band in Europe at the mo - no one can touch them
I just don't understand why they haven't got a UK or USA record label deal.

Not sure how much they've tried. They just broke in Norway with their previous album, the debut went largely unnoticed.

But, I mean, surely they could make it. IMO they are doing very much the same thing as The Killers musically, only much better.
