There are about twelve volumes at my local shop. Feeling like buying one or two, but intimidated / overwhelmed. Any favorites among the ILX massive?

#8 is fantastic - sonics inc, just too much, amberjacks, adrian lloyd tracks are all killers. sadly the cd version leaves off the sonics inc. can't go too wrong with #5 and #6 because they have the keggs on it, amongst other great stuff.

i have the #3 cd which covers bits and pieces from a couple of the LP volumes. also great. i think the consistency is pretty high across all the volumes, but other than a handful of tracks i haven't heard #1 and #2 in full..

Awesome, thanks man! #8 looks great - double vinyl appeals to me. Think I'll start there...

Numbers 2 and 4 are my faves. They're all very high quality, though.

Whoa, electric sound says 5,6 and 8, ian sez 2 and 4. Great. Just great.

Oh well, if I dig 8 I'll probably go back and buy 'em all. Don't know why a Pebbles / Killed By Death freak such as myself waited so long to dive in, anyway...

I only have the CD versions so I'm missing a few tracks, but they are all good.

The Bunker Hill track on vol 4 will blow your stereo.

'The Girl Can't Dance'? That vocal intro is one the most incredible things I've ever heard. The rest of it isn't to shoddy either. I think Link Wray plays on it.

Link Wray does play on it. Norton put it out on 45 a few years back, as the flipside to the less-impressive-but-still-great "Friday Night Dance Party". "The Girl Can't Dance" is one of my favorite songs, but you really can't go wrong with Bunker Hill. "Hide & Seek" is likewise great, if not quite so wild. Good cover by Blacktop sometime in the late 90s.

Back From The Grave Vol 1

seven years pass...

Vol. 9 and 10 came out recently. They're kind of uneven and there are some out of character moments (a cover of "Hey Gyp" for instance) but the high points are pretty great.
