Very sad loss. Even with the Hall of Fame induction, I still don't think that the DC5 get all the props they deserve - innovative, exciting and a stream of great records more influential than people generally care to acknowledge.

Agreed. I think if anything the Hall of Fame induction shows that the Americans recognised them (eventually) more than us Brits. Shame on us.

Apropos to the Zep thread that's currently running on ILM and Bonham's drum sounds in particular, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd learned a few tricks from the production techniques Dave Clark used; the depth and scope of the drums on DC5 records are very noticeable compared with other Britbeat records of the time where the drums tended to be tinnier to be more transistor radio-compatible.
