is it too late to say I'm sorry--for everything?

way back when I was in school I traveled to Memphis to interview Alex Chilton, and Ross Johnson was along for the interview. One of the funniest guys I've ever met and one of the most acute, or at least in tune with what I hold dear. The comp is amazing. Maybe it's time for a big Panther Burns revival, which probably should start with Behind the Magnolia Curtain, which I reckon is their best LP.

Ross also wrote one of the funniest pieces ever--for Memphis Flyer--on the non-success of PB and the indignity of being an "aging rock daddy" in the indie scene. I will always treasure my copy of the original "It Never Happened"/"Nudist Camp" single, which I've pretty much committed to memory. Sin twisters!
