Of the artists at issue, hundreds of millions of copies of their CD's have been sold over the last ten years. It should be kept in mind that the groups included below are a small sample of all the hip-hop groups which have put out kill-the-whites messages, and because there is way more out there than the researchers of this web site have time or resources to uncover, interested readers are encouraged to dig up violently racist lyrics and present them for public scrutiny. Here are some examples:

"Kill the white people; we gonna make them hurt; kill the white people; but buy my record first; ha, ha, ha";
"Kill d'White People"; Apache, Apache Ain't Shit, 1993, Tommy Boy Music, Time Warner, USA.

Yo yo, I hate those filthy fuckin' monkeys
And the features that they share with simians
Disgusting junkies, welfare recipients
They livin' off of someone's money who pays tax and has a life
While these black bitches stomachs stay fat with parasites
And they have to have a pipe to relax on average nights
So their bastard bratty tykes all act like savage types
It's the legacy of black and Spanish guys
Beg when tea and general complacency of dads who have no wives
Police should beat their fuckin' skulls in with magnum lights
Illegitimate illiterate black should have no rights
Cuz they go from having lives to having life
And I pay to feed their appetites and give them TV's with satellite
Those thievin' stealing dirty fuckin' heathens dealing dope need to steal a boat
And sail their monkey asses back to Africa
And seal the coast with giant gates made of steel and bolts
So we can try and save the decent white god-fearing folk

Don't hand me your ethics, just credit this as rude hard speech
Cuz I'm not anti-Semitic, Jews are cheap
With every breath their breathing through large beaks
They're telling more fibs and squeezing four kids into two car seats
What a waste of white skin, heartbeats and faces like men
Nigger lovers who treat the beast as if the ape was like them
They killed the savior Christ and denied that he was God's seed
It doesn't come as a surprise that meet the Nazi's
I live to see the day that Rabbi's decree their cocks be clipped at birth
'Till there ain't a Jewish dick that works
We should take care of the rich half first on Hanukkah
And smother out their breath and words with yarmulkes
'Till they turn to vomiters choking on their manichevitz
Menorahs to the foreheads would make some handy weapons
'Cuz there's no room for clandestine Goldbergs, Blatts and Bergs
We'll just wipe them off the face of the earth

You know who probably hurts us most
Those sneaky guys with chinky eyes and the turban folks
Dot-heads who settle on our urban coast
I wish that they would drop dead, buying up convenience stores and restaurants
Either or they sneaking in, I'm tired of the lenient laws
Treatin' them like real Americans when after all
These rice eating heathens even eat their cats and dogs
And that's because their misers, fucking cabbies in a hurry
Covered in the stench of curry, and they're awful drivers
The law provides us with no means of protection
Not even a weapon to stop the evil conception
And my people are threatened by the rate at which they multiply
Alarming enough to make the true patriots pulses high
Cultist-like worship, Hindu and Buddhist rituals
Our lord Christ would turn grave due to his principles
The way they're taking bread from the truly blessed sons
I have to say the only good brown and yellow folks are dead ones

I'd like to add lastly, AIDS ain't a disease
We should take tainted IV's and jam 'em up the pillow-biting fags ass cheeks
And dykes are twice as bad, what kinda woman doesn't like to shag
No dick for those chicks, what kinda life is that?
We got Marxists fighting for the rights of drag queens and queers
Who's sperm's on like germ farms breeding fear
The fucking fairies need braziers, high heels, and dick
The stuff so scary to even hear it I'm feeling sick
Your body parts got a right feeling fit, silly fairy
Nobody wants fags and dykes to join the military
We'd be better off killing every bitchy lesbian
And wimpy feminine men than to let them in
Then again I know it seems like I'm the devil's rotten henchmen
But no one on this earth loves all of god's inventions
Not to mention, I got a date to try and talk to Satan
And lots of tension, cuz I'm late for my inauguration

I used to listen to an old-timey bluegrass collection that had Run, Pete, Run on it but then someone told me that although the song was about catching a racoon it used to be sung at kkk meetings (or similar) to mean, well I'm sure I don't need to spell it out...kind of ruined it for me...

So, anyway, probably Jimmie Martin's Run Pete Run...

Hey, y'all you coon hunters. Speak to 'em Pete.
Man, just listen what a jaw on a dog.

Well the dogs are out runnin' on a Saturday night.
The boss man yellin' everything's all right.
We're gonna catch a coon and we're gonna skin 'er
The preacher man's a' comin' for Sunday dinner.

Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man
Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man.

(yark, yark)

Sister get the broom and scrub the walls
Gotta have 'em clean 'fore when the preacher calls.
Granny's in the kitchen a' rollin' the dough
Mama's in the living room a' scrubbin' the floor.

Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man.
Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man

Buddy Lee's in the tata patch a' digging up taters
Lisa's in the garden a' pullin' off maters.
Well, Jimmie's on the back porch a' shuckin the corn
Waitin' for the preacher man to toot his horn.

Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man
Run Pete run as fast as ya can.
Gotta catch a coon for the preacher man

Well, boys this is one Sunday the preacher man's not gonna get that finger lickin' good chicken. He's gonna have him a big coon in him.

'Cause my #1 coon dog, Ol' Pete has got him treed.
Look at him, Raymond... a 25 pounder!
Speak to him, big man!
Listen, what a jaw on a dog
Man, look at that coon, boys
Talk to him, Pete!
Speak to him, big man!
Look at that big coon, Raymond!

Now it's fiesta time in Akron, Ohio
But it's back to old Guadalajara I'm longing to go
Far away from the strikes of the A.F. of L. and C.I.O.
How I wish I could get back to the land of the wetback
And forget the Alamo
In old Mexico, Olé!

Probably some Oi band. I have an ABH CD - they had a song on a "White Noise" comp with Skr3wdr1ver etc, although they since apologised/repented (the song itself has no racist lyrics).

Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 00:29 (seventeen years ago)

I have a collection of Civil War tunes called Southern Soldier (streaming here) which is mostly songs about dancing and eating pancakes and shit, but features an old minstrel song ("Zip Coon" - which was apparently the origin for "Turkey in the Straw") and "Oh, I'm a Good Ol' Rebel", which is about a Confederate veteran after the war. I don't think that one is overtly racist, but it's full of hate towards the Union.

I don't know what to say about "Dixie". Also originally a minstrel tune, the song was apparently written to play to racist stereotypes that don't register today - the only thing I used to pick up on was the first line about the "land of cotton". Being a folk song, there are also a lot of revised versions of the lyrics that are pro-Union or whatever.

I only want to sing along on "HOORAY! HOORAY!" Is that so wrong?

Um, hi there.

I've kept some of that shit on my hard drive just because (A) I don't want to just delete it so I can pretend it was never there and (B) every once in awhile, someone will go on about DAC being a true country legend and I get to throw that crap in their face.

Stomp and Swerve: American Music Gets Hot (Archeophone) from a couple years ago has "All Coons Look Alike To Me" (ca. 1902) from Arthur Collins and Vess L. Ossman, among other turn of the century "coon songs," plus one called "Watermelon Party" (1909) by Polk Miller & Old South Quartet.

Most David Allan Coe LPs I've heard, like most oi! albums I've heard (I've got a bunch of both) don't have anything noticeably racist on them. (The '70s Coe releases that did were basically bootlegs -- sort of a redneck asshole equivalent of Clarence Reid's Blowfly persona, as far as I could tell.)

xhuxk, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 01:44 (seventeen years ago)

Okay, I admit it. My copy of "Cowboys and Niggers" by David Allan Coe may not have been an official release. It's still a song he recorded that somehow wormed its way to the public.

Pleasant Plains, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 01:49 (seventeen years ago)

Actually, though, Coe did use the "n" word in at least one country hit from the '70s:

http://www.lyricsdownload.com/david-allan-coe-if-that-ain-t-country-lyrics.html

And I've never heard these (not Coe, but maybe influenced by him), and really don't want to:

Eisbaer, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 04:32 (seventeen years ago)

also, i don't think that frank zappa's INTENT on thing-fish was racist (the tuskegee race experiments were a subtext to the record's theme [and yes, zappa WAS repulsed that the US government actually did that to people]). still, sitting through an entire album with a (black) guy singing in a fake Amos and Andy/Kingfish voice isn't exactly a comfortable listening experience.

Eisbaer, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 04:37 (seventeen years ago)

I used to listen to an old-timey bluegrass collection that had Run, Pete, Run on it but then someone told me that although the song was about catching a racoon it used to be sung at kkk meetings (or similar) to mean, well I'm sure I don't need to spell it out...kind of ruined it for me...

uncle dave macon didn't even bother with the "pete" euphemism. skillet lickers did the song too, among others.

wikipedes:

Coe's song N***** Fucker is controversial because of its title and lyrics, but is regarded by some, including its author, as satire.[citation needed] The song describes in blunt terms the visceral disgust of a white man whose wife had a sexual relationship with a black man (for whom she left her husband and children) [1]. At one point the husband declares "there's nothing quite as worthless/As a white girl with a n*****". The song ends with: "So for all you n******-lovin' whores/This song is just for you".[citation needed]

N.W.A performed a cover of this song at their 1993 Philadelphia concert.

Coe refuses to acknowledge or play his own "X-Rated" controversial songs in concert. Despite these recordings DAC insists he is not nor has he ever been a racist and in fact had a black man both in his band and as a roommate. However, the albums are for sale through the Official David Allan Coe web site.

Interesting piece of apocrypha, but NWA broke up in 1991!
