fun fact: i once won a radio comp on glr for two tickets to see slam but no one would go with me :/

also got the soundtrack out of it though!! brand nubian cut was the best i think

r|t|c, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 01:20 (seventeen years ago)

eugh i can only vouch for "non lateral hypothesis" because i think that's a jazz fudge/pre-97 vadim track??

winston, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 01:21 (seventeen years ago)

that really is a sad story seeing it all up onscreen like that

r|t|c, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 01:22 (seventeen years ago)

i always wondered if that cinematic orchestra track was supposed to be related to the buddy rich song of the same name (don't think so?).

What do non-Britishers think of 'Bad Sex'

DJ Mencap, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 09:55 (seventeen years ago)

I could never remember what many of the tracks on this sounded like. At the time, I thought it was cause it was 3 CD's worth of music. Turns it out it was just because most of it's dull.

Even at the time I found this comp too dull to remember anything from, and that was back when I was pretty excited by the tracklisting and the prospect of giving yet more money to Ninja Tune. Only track I can currently recall is Kid Koala and it was possibly my least favourite Koala track back when I thought he was some kind of godlike genius (actually would be interested to dig his stuff out again and see how it's aged, because I'm guessing it's not well, but right now I think I can summon more nostalgic glee for it than pretty much anything else on Ninja Tune).

(oh, I didn't see Roots Manuva there, might be worth a vote... uhh... how does that one go? never mind)

'No Mind' should've been sped up. I really notice the grateyness of the timestretch now.

can't remember half of these altho i have the disc at home but Quincy wins.

blueski, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 12:09 (seventeen years ago)

Funkungfusion is a much better comp
