Radio 1 Top 100 Listeners Chart

Every so often, Radio One used to spend a bank holiday Monday counting down a listener voted chart of classic songs. I distinctly remember them happening regularly in the early 90s, and it was often between "Bo Rap" and "Teen spirit" for number one.

Now I'll freely admit that I've not listened to R1 for - well - nearly a decade now, but I was wondering

a) have they done any of these things recently?
and
b) if so, what were the results?

Also is there a website which has previous 'top 100' charts - as in listener surveys, not the top 40 singles chart obviously. If there is, it will be an interesting insight into the listeners views.

They generally do a "text your track requests in" and whoever is standing in for the big name DJs basically pick and choose from the tracks requested. You know, whereas I can text "Buffalo" Stump all day, as soon as someone texts in "Oh please play "Rehab" by AWinehouse lol I luv it xxx" it'll be STRAIGHT on.

The nineteen 19-year-olds on the switchboard probably don't know what Buffalo or Stump is, let alone Charlton Heston.

So they don't do anything as outmoded as actually poll their listeners for their favourite tracks to be compiled into a "top 100 ever ever ever" list? Shame.

Talking of Stump, did I ever tell you about the time I fell asleep at one of their gigs and the singer stopped the band and shouted through the PA for me to wake up?
