The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:29 (seventeen years ago)

"We Need a Resolution" for me, but "Get Ur Freak On" is muy close.

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:30 (seventeen years ago)

"We At It Again" for its highlife fever.

Kevin John Bozelka, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:31 (seventeen years ago)

this is kind of impossible.

The Brainwasher, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:35 (seventeen years ago)

anything except for "Raise Up" is a joke

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:37 (seventeen years ago)

not really, no

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

i'm kind of leaning towards "take away" because it's just such a breathtakingly beautiful song, but then there's "i care 4 u" and "try again" and "ugly" and "ryde or die bitch" and "get ur freak on"... I dunno.

The Brainwasher, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:42 (seventeen years ago)

and "whats my name pt. 2" is one of snoops more underrated singles

The Brainwasher, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:42 (seventeen years ago)

I'll give you "Ugly" and "freak"....but the power of "raise up" is really unstoppable...if you'd have ever taken your shirt off and twisted it round your head like a helicopter in passion for this great song then you'd know...

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

there hasn't been a snoop singles poll, has there?

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:45 (seventeen years ago)

get ur freak on vs. try again vs. ugly

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:47 (seventeen years ago)

"this one's for who? US! us! US!"

come on, give it a listen....

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:53 (seventeen years ago)

"raise up"is a great song, there are just better songs on the list.

also, where is ms jade - "big head" and "ching ching"? or were those 2002?

The Brainwasher, Friday, 14 March 2008 03:55 (seventeen years ago)

Bubba Sparxxx - Lovely
Ludacris - Roll Out (My Business)
Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On
Missy Elliott - One Minute Man
Petey Pablo - Raise Up

Seriously, how do you choose???

Doctor Casino, Friday, 14 March 2008 04:05 (seventeen years ago)

"Hey Papi" might seriously be my favorite Jay/Tim track, so underrated.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

Aaliyah - Try Again

milo z, Friday, 14 March 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

'hey papi' is great i agree. also really like petey pablo 'i' lately. that snoop track is hilarious

these polls must've skipped the year of 'are you that somebody' (favorite tim track of mine & possibly favorite song ever) and 'what's so different' and when was tweet 'call me'? not released until early 02?

voted for 'get your freak on' though. what no 'lick shots'?

daria-g, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:07 (seventeen years ago)

drz daria

TIMBO 98-99

and "Lick Shots" wasn't included because it wasn't a single

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:16 (seventeen years ago)

doh, I missed that! nas & aaliyah "you wont see me tonight" great too.

daria-g, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:28 (seventeen years ago)

"lick shots" was a single, or at least there was a 12" for it

i voted 'ryde or die bitch'

deej, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:32 (seventeen years ago)

nas & aaliyah "you wont see me tonight" great too.

yup

deej, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:33 (seventeen years ago)

btw, "Call Me" is 02, mid-late 02 if I remember right

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:33 (seventeen years ago)

xxp: well it aint a single in my mind and I
m the one making the poll dammit

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:36 (seventeen years ago)

gtfoh with you "facts"

The Reverend, Friday, 14 March 2008 05:36 (seventeen years ago)

Try Again vs Freak On. Gah, hard.

chap, Friday, 14 March 2008 13:06 (seventeen years ago)

oh noes seriously tough poll.

Roz, Friday, 14 March 2008 13:16 (seventeen years ago)

sorry to go with the standard choice, but "Get Ur Freak On" is my fav, ahead of the Aaliyah tracks.

Euler, Friday, 14 March 2008 13:23 (seventeen years ago)

Very tough if you separate "We Need A Resolution" from the pack.

totally analog., Friday, 14 March 2008 14:47 (seventeen years ago)

i've been thinking about this one since the last poll and i still don't know

J0rdan S., Friday, 14 March 2008 17:09 (seventeen years ago)

i like 'more than a woman' but for some reason it always made me think of zelda music

deej, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:09 (seventeen years ago)

get ur freak on is the best beat, but rollout and ugly are sentimental favorites

J0rdan S., Friday, 14 March 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)

in 8th grade i spent so much time trying to memorize the fast parts to rollout

J0rdan S., Friday, 14 March 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)

i thought 'lovely' was an underrated single. 'ugly' is a flip of 'get ur freak on' more or less, isnt it?

deej, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:12 (seventeen years ago)

i had a mix cd that went 1. rollout 2. worlds greatest 3. keepin it gangsta and i just looped those 3 songs for hours

J0rdan S., Friday, 14 March 2008 17:13 (seventeen years ago)

he even drops the get ur freak on beat during the ugly outro xp

J0rdan S., Friday, 14 March 2008 17:13 (seventeen years ago)

'ugly' is a flip of 'get ur freak on' more or less, isnt it?

ehh he flipped back and forth between the latter beat at the end of the former, and they're obvious same BPM, but they're really totally different animals. i might like "Ugly" better. (xpost)

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:14 (seventeen years ago)

I've been listening to "More Than a Woman" a whole lot lately, so I'll rep for that ahead of "Get Ur Freak On" and "Roll Out."

maciej recognizing trill, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

I almost voted for "Ugly" but then I realized that "Ryde Or Die Bitch" is probably my favorite Timbaland produced beat that has ever happened.

Shouldn't "Big Pimpin" be in this?

billstevejim, Sunday, 16 March 2008 03:55 (seventeen years ago)

technically probably, but I'm being lazy and going by when the albums were released instead of getting all anal about single release dates, so it was in the last poll

The Reverend, Sunday, 16 March 2008 04:05 (seventeen years ago)

I wanna be sentimental and vote for more than a woman cos i still tear up whenever i listen to it... But get ur freak on is just too great

Christyles, Sunday, 16 March 2008 15:08 (seventeen years ago)

bump

The Reverend, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 14:37 (seventeen years ago)

"We need a resolution" could be my favorite song ever so that's my vote, but damn what a streak

baaderonixx, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)

"try again" is what i thought all music would sound like in the 21st century.

tipsy mothra, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

ugh, I just realized I botched the end date

The Reverend, Monday, 24 March 2008 00:13 (seventeen years ago)

Not to bum everyone out but when I was watching the Try Again video on youtube the other day one of the users commented that she would have been 30 on Friday ;_;

Women can be captains too, you know? (jim), Monday, 19 January 2009 00:13 (sixteen years ago)

lmao @ this

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 19 January 2009 06:54 (sixteen years ago)

i am glad the me of 10 months ago had the good sense to vote for "try again."

tipsy mothra, Monday, 19 January 2009 07:00 (sixteen years ago)

my favourite song here is easily 'i care 4 u' but i think if we're focusing on production it's hard to look beyond 'we need a resolution'

lex pretend, Monday, 19 January 2009 09:49 (sixteen years ago)

Agreed.

Tim F, Monday, 19 January 2009 11:36 (sixteen years ago)

i had never heard i care 4 u until just now and it has blown my mind.

caek, Monday, 19 January 2009 11:41 (sixteen years ago)

i've been thinking about this one since the last poll and i still don't know

i still dont know

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 19 January 2009 11:42 (sixteen years ago)

timbaland rap beats were a huge part of my musical life as a teen but the production songs on the aaliyah tracks are so otherworldly it's kind of no contest down to those i think

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 19 January 2009 11:46 (sixteen years ago)

even with missy stuff you could argue that tim was working with a well-known palate as far as dirty south rap goes ("get ur freak on" kind of blows this theory out of the water but w/e) but the aaliyah tracks rewrote the book so thoroughly and commandingly

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 19 January 2009 11:49 (sixteen years ago)

I don't think anything sounds like it, still.

Tim F, Monday, 19 January 2009 12:02 (sixteen years ago)

very hard indeed but I might go with "try again" as I was totally fascinated by that song at the time... how many times I've listened to it being blasted by the production...aaah, this elastic synth, for instance... "freak" and "resolution" are close behind.

AleXTC, Monday, 19 January 2009 12:11 (sixteen years ago)

I would have voted "Get Ur Freak On" if I didn't want to make sure "I Told Y'all" got at least one vote, because that beat just murders, so I voted that instead.

Matos W.K., Monday, 19 January 2009 12:43 (sixteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Tuesday, 20 January 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

vote-splitting!
