voted MOP

deej, Friday, 14 March 2008 15:49 (seventeen years ago)

Based on other ILM polls it should be pretty obvious who'll win this...

I'm gonna vote for Dead Prez, because I doubt anyone else will. They made one of the best rap debut albums ever, though unfortunately their later records haven't really been able to líve up to it, despite several quality tunes here and there. Anyway, those later records weren't on Loud, so I don't have to take them into consideration here.

Tuomas, Friday, 14 March 2008 15:50 (seventeen years ago)

"Hip Hop" is top ten best "lazy mixtape freestyle backing" beats ever

Dom Passantino, Friday, 14 March 2008 15:51 (seventeen years ago)

wanted to vote twista

dmr, Friday, 14 March 2008 15:58 (seventeen years ago)

Mobb only did 2 albums on Loud but they were their 2 best albums so I'm tempted to vote for them. (xpost)

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 16:00 (seventeen years ago)

looking at what everyone on this label brought to the table, i had to go with Mobb

those funk flex mixes are still classic too... loved getting every hot late 90s rapper to flow on mobb deep and wu-tang forever beats

come the fuck on now

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:12 (seventeen years ago)

Broken Image Records did it big, no doubt.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:13 (seventeen years ago)

ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A DEF JAM LOGO

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:14 (seventeen years ago)

and they even had Slayer, which is like > Megadeth like a zillion

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:15 (seventeen years ago)

based on ethan's taste I think it's totally reasonable for him to say Loud was better. hell if you look at just Def Jam during Loud's lifespan (92-02) Loud would probably be have it no contest.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:18 (seventeen years ago)

boring vote, but wu

^^cosign

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:22 (seventeen years ago)

you're honestly offended that ethan would rep for the label responsible for Big Pun, the Beatnuts, MOP, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep, Three 6, Twista and Tha Alkaholiks? this is a dumb argument to have, dudes.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)

I'm not "offended"

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:29 (seventeen years ago)

but you quoted and co-signed a swear word.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:30 (seventeen years ago)

hahaha

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:31 (seventeen years ago)

in highschool (90-94) i did street team promotions for loud.

jaxon, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:31 (seventeen years ago)

i had like 16 rolls of wu stickers that ended up in so many places they shouldn't have, so i voted them

jaxon, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:34 (seventeen years ago)

hell if you look at just Def Jam during Loud's lifespan (92-02)

COME THE FUCK ON:

Jay-Z's Vol. 2 and The Blueprint
Scarface's The Fix
The first four Redman albums
Ludacris's first two albums
Method Man's Tical
The first DMX album
Cam'ron
Juelz Santana
Warren G's "Regulate"
Onyx's Bacdafucup
Cru - Da Dirty 30 (which is as awesome as any Loud second-stringer)
late but still classic EPMD
Def Squad
That decent first Ja Rule album
Slick Rick's Art Of Storytelling
Mephis Bleek
Beanie Sigel
MC Serch's slept-on album

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:36 (seventeen years ago)

and Flatlinerz

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 14 March 2008 17:37 (seventeen years ago)

that's awesome, dude. doesn't Rifkind get/take a lot of credit for pioneering the whole rap label street team concept? i mean not that stapling posters and wraparound vans are some great gift to the world but that's still kinda cool.

Tuomas, Friday, 14 March 2008 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

Delinquent Habits had a genuine mainstream-MTV hit back in 1996. Pretty awes.
