ATH is great!

I loved Textstar when I first heard it...wonder how it would hold up today.

Vocalcity > Textstar >>>>>>>>>>>>> Around the House

Fully agree with abanana on Around the House. Not sure if I'd put Vocalcity ahead of Textstar or the other way around, they're both extraordinary.

Replace AtH with Akufen's My Way for a closer three-way race.

Honestly, never liked Herbert, like at all really.
That being said this is definitely a thread where regardless of votes, everyone on earth wins.

around the house is awesome!

textstar is amazing though it hasn't been as addicting as vocalcity was for me when i first got it.

re: akufen's my way as a more worthy third contender than ATH, i don't know, something about it never really stuck with me as much as some similar albums did. i haven't given it a listen in a long time, though. i probably should.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Around the House for me. Textstar was good but I aways preferred Loop Finding Jazz Records. And I should hold my hands up and admit I've onky heard Volcacity a couple of times.

Re. My Way - I loved the first 3 tracks to bits but that 'micro-sampling' technique he uses gets very tedious over the course of an album.

i love around the house. so awesome

It's true that My Way falls off (only a bit, I'd say) after "Skidoos."

Vocalcity! I love it so much and whenever I play it to other people they love it too.

Not much of a surprise here, I must say.

As an aside, theres a kind of interesting interview with Jan Jelinek here.

It's interesting, as yesterday, actually, I was thinking about how I still find Jan/Farben's stuff to be more interesting, engaging, and out right better than most anything that's followed it. I think its unfair how people are so disposed to ignore it because of how the whole clicks and cuts sound being so out of date, it seems (although I only got into it, due to my lack of years, in like 2005). Well, I've long accepted that he'd given up doing that kind of stuff, but still, for me it's going to stand out for a long time, I hope.
