That is actually quite a good top three.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:28 (eighteen years ago)

Everything future generations will need to know about the British pop landscape in 2007 is contained in this chart.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:29 (eighteen years ago)

I fuck with: 11, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 26, 30, 38

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

Sugababes win by virtue of being their first decent single in something like three years.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:33 (eighteen years ago)

38 will surely win but I contrarian-like voted for "Potential Break-up Song".

edwardo, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

Shit. Umbrella trounces the competition. I'd be tempted to support home-grown talent and go for the Sugababes, but it's one of their weakest singles. Kanye, Timbo and Britney make up the rest of the halfway decent stuff.

Jesus, just YouTubed BB twins doing Barbie Girl, and it will haunt my dreams.

chap, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

I go for n-n-n-19.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

It's my fave Sugababes single! But it doesn't beat Rihanna (er, the one at 36) or Robyn.

Hoosiers == Scouting for Girls == Wombats

ledge, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

I'd be tempted to support home-grown talent and go for the Sugababes

Remember - pop is not a parish church collection box.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

The Robyn track's interesting, but I don't really dig it for some reason.

chap, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

wtf 2x hoosiers, 2x kayne, 3x rihanna, 2x timbaland

at least this isn't the chart with the multiple valeries.

ledge, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

Potential Breakup Song is the most overrated Poptimist pick of 07, although I'm kind of surprised it charted here at all. It's no 'Like Woah' anyway.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

nothing wrong with it you 1 x contrarian.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:42 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for "In the Air Tonight". Who'd have thought it? This one is some pretty poor/mediocre stuff, apart from 2 or three numbers.

Pashmina, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:46 (eighteen years ago)

Shrug shoulders:
1, 5, 6, 8, 9, 18, 22, 28, 34, 39.

NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST IN FIVE SECONDS:
2, 4, 7, 10-15 incl, 20, 21, 23, 24, 31, 35, 37, 40.

Genius:
3, 19, 25, 29, 30, 32, 36, 38.

I'd buy it a pint:
16, 17, 26, 27, 33.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 11:57 (eighteen years ago)

BONUS POINTS: guess the Geir pick before he turns up in thread

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:00 (eighteen years ago)

One of the Hoosiers atrocities.

chap, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:00 (eighteen years ago)

Geir will go for Britney or Phil.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

"In The Air Tonight" may be a little too rhythm dominate for his likings.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:08 (eighteen years ago)

Geir to pick number tshirts..

Mark G, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:10 (eighteen years ago)

Sugababes win by virtue of being their first decent single in something like three years

Red Dress (a single 2 years ago) kills this

voted Gimme More

blueski, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 12:33 (eighteen years ago)

The Hoosiers. Easily!

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

("Goodbye Mr. A" that is)

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

Medal to chap.

Mark G, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:06 (eighteen years ago)

So I'm completely on my own on number 8?

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 22 March 2008 01:34 (eighteen years ago)
