Okay well this image will probably last all of 5 seconds but here goes:

Classic album from my high school teenager years. My faves are still "Threshold" and especially the undeniable brilliance of "In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated".

Does anything goth get any better than this? I doubt it.

The last 4 songs are really the Garden of Arcane Delights EP tagged on to the first album, which makes it even more difficult to choose. Still I gotta go with "Ocean". The despair in her voice is just chilling.

You're right, goth doesn't get any better than this album. It's a perfect album and as such I won't vote for any one track from it.

Thanks for reminding me of this album. I haven't heard it in years, but if "In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated" is one tenth as glorious as I remember it to be, it should take the prize.

i like the chick in this because my friend lent me a dvd about her and she is really cool

I know, right?, Saturday, 22 March 2008 23:34 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, "Ocean", I think. Only because I just prefer the Lisa Gerrard vocals over Brendan Perry's. But it's close.

Sometimes, when you listen to DCD, which is too rare these days (thanks Bimble for the thread), it's like an alternate universe in which some hybrid of otherworld-Edith Piaf meets otherworld-Scott Walker or something. With dulcimers.

"Ocean" is incredible, but you have to have very high tolerance for overwrought, which luckily I have.

Yeah, more people need to seriously listen to this album before it's too late. The global warming clock of doom is ticking.

Still we love to see "In Power We Entrust..." up at the top don't we! :) :) :)
