I can't find a mention of this anywhere here.

So far only North American dates are announced: http://yesworld.com/ywtour.html

All original members except Wakeman's sprog, who hopefully isn't the Tory supporting celebrity fuckwit his father is.

I am sacred that Geir and I will be the only ones who care about this.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 02:48 (eighteen years ago)

No, I care, though it's not the same for me without the old "fuckwit". It's not Yes without him. Glad I caught their 30th Anniversary tour a few years back.

Capitaine Jay Vee, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

why did wakeman opt out, poor health? sick of the same ol' tunes?

gershy, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 03:57 (eighteen years ago)

According to this interview his health can't put up with any more long tours.

Capitaine Jay Vee, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 05:34 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks for the link.

God I hope they come to Melbourne.

Having seen Yes live in 2001 without Wakeman (on the Magnification tour, with the orchestra), and again a couple of years later with Wakeman back in the line-up, my considered opinion is that they're a vastly better live band without him.

I'll go to this. I couldn't care less what a "Tory fuckwit" is. Original members, does that mean Banks instead of Howe?

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

It'll be with Howe and White.

Joe, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 16:28 (eighteen years ago)

I'm buying my dad tickets to this for his birthday.

littlewhiteearbuds, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

i saw them play with that igor guy that got kicked out for rape or whatever. he was AWESOME! his 70s synth sounds were way hipper than when i saw them with Rick. but rick is an awesome player.

chaki, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

By 'original members' I meant not J. D. Fortune, for example.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

I am sacred that Geir and I will be the only ones who care about this.

I don't really care unless they come up with some newly composed and recorded material which is at least their best since 1980.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

I missed the recent tours; may check this one out.

unperson, Thursday, 27 March 2008 01:16 (eighteen years ago)

I would totally go to this if it were coming nearer to me.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 27 March 2008 01:44 (eighteen years ago)

Magnification is their best since 1980.

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 27 March 2008 02:50 (eighteen years ago)

two months pass...

CANCELLED

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 5 June 2008 12:19 (eighteen years ago)

He looks ill tho.

Mark G, Thursday, 5 June 2008 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

he sounds really sick; acute respiratory failure!

akm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

Their biggest UK hit came in 1977 with Wondrous Stories, which reached number seven in the chart.

how bizarre

Dominique, Thursday, 5 June 2008 15:12 (eighteen years ago)

They weren't really a singles band to be honest. Oh hold on, Owner Of A Lonely Heart surely? Anyway, they should get Trevor Horn back in.

Matt #2, Thursday, 5 June 2008 15:23 (eighteen years ago)

7 Yes Wonderous Stories Sep 1977
24 Yes Going For The One Nov 1977
36 Yes Don't Kill The Whale Sep 1978
28 Yes Owner Of A Lonely Heart Nov 1983

Mark G, Thursday, 5 June 2008 15:30 (eighteen years ago)

owner must have charted higher in the US

akm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 16:27 (eighteen years ago)

"Owner" was #1 in the US. The video was on MTV (and "Friday Night Videos") constantly.

Sara Sara Sara, Thursday, 5 June 2008 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, man. Jon's being ill makes me sad. Here's wishing him a quick recovery.

Capitaine Jay Vee, Thursday, 5 June 2008 18:24 (eighteen years ago)
