Great review, although everything tom describes is what makes me like not dislike this record. And the Klaxons are really boring fwiw.

okay, i can't take this. granted, i've only listened to the first minute of the first song...these treble crews make my teeth hurt. appropriate that i also got a boyz noize remix ep in the mail today too.

justice' OH SO OPPOSITIONAL stance re: "dance music" is just fucking tiring. for plenty of people there's nothing wrong with "german," "techno" + "DJ," and there hasn't been for a long time. and if there were anything wrong with those three terms, it's hardly like boys noize is reinventing the form so radically to transcend everything else. (his best tracks sound like the areal label, anyway.) the whole edbanger obsession with COOLNESS is also really effing tiring, but then i'm old, and de facto ineligible.

COOLNESS is pretty much the only thing that matters when it comes to rock music that you're supposed to dance to

indie 103.1 has been playing "we are rockstars" pretty much every 15 minutes. i think i like it.

These guys played probably the single worst dj set I ever heard in my life.

There's one really good number on this baby - the instrumental number Attack of the 50 foot Lesbian Octopus. Nowhere near as good as The Revillos though, who is who it sounds like.

The Veronica's "Untouched". I mean, srsly, ttlly.

OK, it was the BEAST 2008 ALBUM EVAH for just this past spring, but it's still in my Top 10 of the year. I still listen to this on/off.

Noticing the hate for this band, while universal, is particularly strong in the UK. Is it one of those "DIOYY? singing : UK :: Blink 182 singing : USA" things that just translates a little better across the pond?
