everything that touches you - a constant on compilations for friends over the years.

nonightsweats, Monday, 7 April 2008 05:23 (seventeen years ago)

it's gotta be "along comes mary"

Eisbaer, Monday, 7 April 2008 05:26 (seventeen years ago)

goodbye columbus is insanely catchy, pretty obv. that they didn't know squat about the book/film when they wrote it

gershy, Monday, 7 April 2008 07:17 (seventeen years ago)

From "Along Comes Mary" thru to "Yes, I Will", all the singles are top notch, as are most of the b-sides! I should really be choosing "Windy" or "Never My Love" but I'll go for "Everything That Touches You" (love the b-side too!)

Tom D., Monday, 7 April 2008 08:34 (seventeen years ago)

Have chosen "Just about the same" because it's nearly as good as the Millenium version.

Ooh "Six Man Band"

zaxxon25, Monday, 7 April 2008 16:50 (seventeen years ago)

Huh, I thought "Enter The Young" was a single. Aside from that, and considering I've heard almost nothing after "Six Man Band", I'll go with the jam-packed-with-crunchy-goodness "Mary".

anyone ever hear Russ Giguere's solo lp "Hexagram 16"? I think Judee Sill is on it, never seen it.

gershy, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 04:58 (seventeen years ago)

Hexagram 16 has one phenomenal mega-orchestrated tune on it -Pegasus- and a bunch of lesser stuff. There's a cover of Judee's "Ridge Rider" on there too, on which Ms Sill plays ac gtr. Worth picking up if it's cheap, which it usually is.

In answer to the question, gotta be Everything That Touches You.
Love! Love! Love! Love! Everything Is Love!

That's now at least five Association songs I love/like, which is at least four more than the Cars and Eurythmics combined, so obviously they belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

the first album is one of my very fave Boettcher babies, but Waterbeds In Trinidad! is way up there too. love that album. that's a six year stretch of goodness. there is an expanded japanese CD of Waterbeds with bonus tracks that i would like to find but i will never find it.
