Staying up too late listening to music : C/D

Dud. I did this last night and have been paying for it at work all afternoon.

Classic. Last night I was gonna lose sleep studying for an exam, but it was much more fun to watch all the rare Afghan Whigs footage on YouTube than to study constantly. And besides, it kept me alert until about 4 AM, and I think I did well on the exam, so there.

There is certain music that sounds best in the stillness of 3AM (Eno, for instance) and if you've made it that far, daybreak can inspire a playlist until the hooch finally beats you down.

The hooch always wins.

i love staying up listening to music until the night loses its color & i wind up in this weird headspace that can't possibly be matched in the daytime. on the other hand, staying up all night adding stuff to my new mp3 player just leaves me tired & restless.

The way it's going I might stay up listening to the Juan McLean's "Happy House" all night on repeat.

Classic and dud. This is much harder to do when you live with a significant other. They keep you from pulling this on the nights when its best advised not to.

Classic when you have absolutely nothing to do the next day. Dud dud dud if you have to get up for work. This thread has actually reminded me that I must sleep now.

this happens to me a lot. i intend to go to bed at 1:30 or 2 and then i get on a kick of one kind or another -- burrowing into mp3 blogs or watching every mutt lange video i can find or whatever -- and suddenly it's 3:30.

Classic. it's almost 5 AM and i've been comparing my recordings of THE RING scene by scene for the past 6 hours! (i also have not gone to bed before 3:00 AM for the past 5 years of my life, though..)

Fuck yes, all the time. Worked 12 hours today, skated a mini-ramp, now I,m drinking beer and listening to records. I work at 8;00 am.

I think pretty much everyone has this spot on. I don't do this much at all anymore. What I do like doing now is getting up early on Sundays and listening to music in that quiet time. That's nice.

I used to do the same thing with tapes, CDs and the radio as a teenager.
Suppose the comp makes it easier now.

I never listen to music alone if I'm not in work the next day, I'm always out with mates or something. I'll have to set aside a fri or sat night to do this though.
