alex in baltimore usually plays crossing guard actually
― J0rdan S., Monday, 21 April 2008 05:44 (seventeen years ago)
I think we talked about this somewhere else briefly, maybe rolling r&b. It's grown on me some, but I can't shake the idea that this is way sub-Dream.

lol @ crossing guard, I missed that the first time.
guys "Hairbraider" is insipid, wtf.
― some dude, Thursday, 26 June 2008 04:01 (seventeen years ago)
true btw
― deej, Thursday, 26 June 2008 04:40 (seventeen years ago)
Whats with this new trend of 'vocalising' that T-Pain has inspired? Fucker is really irritating me. Hairbraider is shite, Kells has been coming out with some really lazy porno sounding shit that wouldn't even get a side glance from Rick James. All those court cases must really take it out of him.
― VeronaInTheClub, Thursday, 26 June 2008 16:08 (seventeen years ago)
so someone at the label leaked 12 Play : 4th Quarter early (waaaaay early), and I haven't really given it a proper listen lately but it's already better then TP3 and Double Up.. he's back to making pure r&B now for the most part, it's very DREAM-esque though with the AYYYs and the autuotune and stuff.. "freaky sensation" is classic kells, sounds straight off of the original 12 Play complete with the corny rap in the middle
― The Brainwasher, Thursday, 31 July 2008 02:43 (seventeen years ago)
actually it sounds more like it's off of s/t but still
― The Brainwasher, Thursday, 31 July 2008 02:44 (seventeen years ago)
PLEASE GOD NO MORE AUTOTUNE
― Joseph McCombs, Thursday, 31 July 2008 04:14 (seventeen years ago)

"I can't imagine this beating TP3"
have faith in kels, man ! when is this supposed to be released ?
― AleXTC, Thursday, 31 July 2008 12:43 (seventeen years ago)
TP3 sucked!
― some dude, Thursday, 31 July 2008 12:45 (seventeen years ago)
cures crabs
― usic, Thursday, 31 July 2008 12:47 (seventeen years ago)
TP3 is the best thing he ever did. 'Double Up' threw me off completely. "Hairbraider" and auto-tuneage do not leave me hopeful
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 31 July 2008 12:49 (seventeen years ago)
Leaked songs now on youtube. "Freaky Sensation" does indeed sound like 90's straight-up R&B kels
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 31 July 2008 12:54 (seventeen years ago)
Alright, "Two Seater" is pretty awesome
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 31 July 2008 13:00 (seventeen years ago)
J0rdan & the Rev are you guys saying you're totally not sick of autotune?
Really?
― J0hn D., Thursday, 31 July 2008 15:34 (seventeen years ago)
TP3 is the best thing he ever did.

rofl
― The Brainwasher, Thursday, 31 July 2008 18:51 (seventeen years ago)
yeah idk if kells specifically needs to be using it, but a lot of rappers and singers have done some cool stuff with it this year, ie kanye, birdman, wayne, chris brown, gorilla zoe
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 31 July 2008 18:51 (seventeen years ago)
Wayne's done 2 good things with it and 20 awful things with it, Kanye's probably headed down the same road, Birdman's was entertaining only in a comedic way, haven't heard Zoe with it, and Chris Brown is actually kinda sorta improved by it.
― some dude, Thursday, 31 July 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)
i was so relieved when Jay teased doing it on the "Put On" remix but it was just a fakeout
― some dude, Thursday, 31 July 2008 19:00 (seventeen years ago)
also "Hairbraider" is one of the worst things ever
yeah im not saying that everything everyone does using autotune is some great experiment in pop music, but i certainly think it's made the rap/r&b landscape in 08 more interesting, and sometimes, like with kanye's verse on "put on" (imo) or with "lollipop" (other people's o) transcendent
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 31 July 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
i'm not anti-autotune but kells doesn't seem to be DOING anything with it here (like as opposed to put on rmx or lollipop), he has such a commanding great voice compared to most RnB dudes, here it just serves to mute him, bring him back to the pack, and the melodic things he's doing just seem to be affectations jacked from t-pain or the dream.
― M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 31 July 2008 19:29 (seventeen years ago)
^^ hoos
T-Pain really does still pwn almost everyone who's used autotune in his wake
― some dude, Thursday, 31 July 2008 19:31 (seventeen years ago)
otm
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 31 July 2008 19:32 (seventeen years ago)
I'd like to hear how autotune has made r&b more interesting in 2008
― baaderonixx, Friday, 1 August 2008 07:40 (seventeen years ago)

freaky sensaaaaatioooonnnnn
― The Brainwasher, Tuesday, 5 August 2008 06:39 (seventeen years ago)
"relief" is so good
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 20 August 2008 07:25 (seventeen years ago)
One can still be "relieved" that something is good
― skygreenleopard, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 21:36 (seventeen years ago)
Unless you were being sincere, in which case I'd have to agree - oh, ambiguous impersonal internet
― skygreenleopard, Friday, 22 August 2008 09:20 (seventeen years ago)
I have love for Son of a Bitch, Screamer and Go Low. Screamer lifts the end of Purple Rain whole; gets me every time.
― forksclovetofu, Friday, 22 August 2008 13:52 (seventeen years ago)
i think my favs are "screamer", "whole lotta kisses", "two seater" and esp "relief"
― J0rdan S., Friday, 22 August 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)
This is such a good album, shame it wasn't released... "Freaky Sensation," "At The Same Time," "Whole Lotta Kisses," "Go Low," all classic Kells... Actually the only shitty song is "Two Seater."
― weekend goodtime (The Brainwasher), Saturday, 21 February 2009 06:43 (sixteen years ago)
I say "classic kells" a lot.
― weekend goodtime (The Brainwasher), Saturday, 21 February 2009 06:45 (sixteen years ago)
I was just wondering what happened to this project the other day.
― The Reverend, Saturday, 21 February 2009 06:59 (sixteen years ago)
Wait this wasn't released? I had no idea
― Jena (who is actually a man) (Jena), Saturday, 21 February 2009 08:20 (sixteen years ago)
i lost this alb when my computer died, im gonna go try and find it again
