this track #1

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 04:45 (seventeen years ago)

In my senior year of high school we did an acting exercise where we picked a song and wordlessly acted it out as it was playing. My friend Heather chose this and did a v. cute and funny skit feigning surprise as the noises came out of her calculator.

I did Joy Division's "I Remember Nothing". Ah, teenage angst.

is there any better example of an S+H wave LFO modulating pitch in any relatively popular tune?

"I PROGRAM MY HOME COMPUTER/BEAM MYSELF INTO THE FUTURE"

Joy Division's "I Remeber Nothing"! atheist bless you sleeve! bless you indeed. Moment of silence for the sacredness of Joy Division. Amen. Lighting a candle right now.

the version of this on the mix is so, soooo bad compared to the original.

the only great sadness i had during saturdays kraftwerk show was this song being painfully absent ;_;

computer world LP is to 80s/90s R&B what sgt peppers lonely hearts club band was to 60s/70s rock.

the version of this on the mix is so, soooo bad compared to the original.

see, i heard the mix version first and i was really shocked when i subsequently bought the 'pocket calculator' 7" and found it was totally different! so tinny...

i may have missed the point of this, somewhat. ace tune anyway.

CharlieNo4, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 12:29 (seventeen years ago)

yes, they did computer love. the set was just slightly over 2 hours long, and there is no such thing as "in between song patter" thank god

John Justen, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 16:31 (seventeen years ago)

see, i am the twat who actually HAD FREE TICKETS TO SEE THEM IN GLASGOW a couple of years back and DIDN'T GO because i am a FUCKING KNOB. i think i was "tired" or "working" or otherwise "being a dick".
