Best acronym in "F.E.A.R." by Ian Brown

I think this is wild. I mean Ian Brown just doesn't get talked about much here does he? Makes me a bit sad that I sold his first two CD's recently. Not because I didn't like them but because I never play them anymore and I needed the money at the time. Everything I've tried of him since then, though, rather bored me.

I think I'm going to go with Fallen Empires Are Ruling. It's rather timely doncha know? :)

I really liked his latest album. He can be a bit...heavy-handed with his lyrics but I think "F.E.A.R" is a great example of him restraining himself a bit and producing something excellent.

One of those options doesn't really fit with the rest...

Always a bit disappointed that for the 'A' most of them use a/and, conjunctions and articles are not normally included in acronyms. Then I slap myself for being such a pedant.

I like the song a lot, but written down it does not translate: Too much 'motivational slogan' for me.

Yeah, I'm tending towards "Fantastic expectations; amazing revelations" for the same reason, but "Fallen empires are ruling" has a similar pull. (Although I always thought it was "fallen empires are rolling" till I looked it up, and I think that would be a better line...)

IIRC, another minor blip on the charts at this time was the Prodigy's rohypnol-themed comeback smash "Baby's Got A Temper"...

however, chuck them all into a song, moving quickly from one to the other, and it diminishes all of them. In a good way.

i think it's about turning your 'fears' into something positive and constructive. .. although the line "forgive everybody and remember" seems ironic given his bitter, longstanding, and public feud against John Squire.

I like the possibility that it might be the other way around - like all these positive slogans have a dark undercurrent, they're easy to say but you're afraid to actually make them happen or something like that.

I think the last two posts have great ideas, but Noodle Vague wins again.
