How is that I find myself pulling out Bauhaus’ “Mask” album this evening? I think it’s because the title track suddenly appeared in my head for no reason, specifically the shatteringly gorgeous guitar part at the end and all that. But really of Bauhaus’ albums I always felt this was the best, though I was madly in love with the quiet side of “The Sky’s Gone Out” album as well. What say you about the album “Mask”? I decided I didn’t want this to be a poll, but that could be done later on if desired.
Here’s the tracklisting of Mask for a refresher course:

Hair Of The Dog
Passion of Lovers (IRRESISTABLE!)
Hollow Hills (CLASSICK!)
Kick In The Eye (FUNKY BASSLINE!)
In Fear of Fear (EVEN MORE FUNKY BASSLINE! One of my top 3 fave Bauhaus songs ever)
Muscle In Plastic
The Man With X-Ray Eyes
Mask (hmm...their BEST SONG EVER?)

See now I’m going to have to pull out The Sky’s Gone Out and do a comparison and rank them correctly. Sigh.

absolutely my fave album of theirs. bur then, just the inclusion of 'hollow hills' would have won me over. when they played here last year (or the year before - my concept of time has long gone) they played more songs from 'mask' than any of their other records so they obviously know it too.

Fuck I totally screwed up the track listing! What the hell? I left out "Of Lillies & Remains" (maybe my fave of all!) and "Dancing"!

Well done, Stephen! I dig.
