U2 - Lemon (Perfecto Mix)

I don't much care for U2, but I've loved this remix ever since it came out. I like how it is both haunting and uplifting, even moreso than the original version of the song. Is there any other U2 song or remix that would sound the same? And does anyone know who the female vocalist on this remix is? On the original version of the song it's the band who sings the bits that are done by her on the remix.

I love the original, but, yeah, this is a great remix.

Also, are there any other remixes by Oakenfold this good? I remember hearing some other Perfecto mix back in the nineties which I also liked.

I seem to recall there was a different video for this remix (or maybe some other remix of "Lemon") with some computer graphics, but I can't find anything on Youtube.

there's a remix of beautiful day that's kinda nice in an uplifting progressive oakenfold kind of way.

Are you already familiar with Oakenfold's work with Happy Mondays, Tuomas?

No, I'm not... I was under the impression Happy Mondays was more like a rock band. Has Oakenfold done house mixes for them?

Gotta check out that Beautiful Day mix too, thanks for the tip.

Check Happy Mondays' W.F.L. (Think About The Future Mix)

Basically, side B of this as well as Pills 'n Thrills and Belly Aches, the whole of it. Then say whether they're still rock ;)

Oakenfold did some of his earliest mixes for the Mondays (Willem's side b above), then produced the whole Pills, Thrills album (and did housier remixes off that) and a subsequent non-LP single. Try any of the 12" mixes of Loose Fit and Bob's Yer Uncle (there are ones without remix titles, and ones called Loose Fix and Bob's Yer Tune), and the 12" version of their cover of Stayin' Alive. These are all slightly closer to his U2 mixes (in chronology if nothing else!) than his later cheesy Perfecto style, so might be up your alley.
