This is what I want. A thread for POXs of the first four Peter Gabriel albums. Inspired by the poll, of course. Sigh. I've had these albums in the past but I don't know why I can't get to grips with actually listening to them all again from beginning to end. I have some songs I really like from them already but I'd like to see what other people come up with. Thanks.

4, then 3, then 1 and finally 2. But it's been a while, I usually pick Plays Alive when I want to listen to some PG.

Not gonna do a POX (I've never done one for anybody), but all these Gabriel threads are making me sad that nobody has mentioned "DIY", from 2.
― xhuxk, Thursday, 1 May 2008 08:24 (seventeen years ago)
Nobody picked "Wallflower" yet? What's wrong with you people?

That's a pretty fun documentary. Security was always my favorite as a teenager – in part because I loved the exotic Fairlight stuff.
Still not entirely sure whether the record holds up—there's always been something uncomfortably colonial about it (accentuated by his undulation during "Rhythm of the Heat" in concert)—but I just ripped my CD copy to iTunes to give it another chance.

It is a bit colonial but it's a foundational fourth world record and I love it.
I love the Birdy OST equally and it's basically the sister record

I love the sounds, and it's the ultimate Fairlight album, but it doesn't hold up.

I gotta little bummed today, reading a promo email stating Peter Gabriel was coming through Chicago, & the venue was City Winery. For the life of me, I can't picture a 'Big Time,' theatrical Gabriel show in that dump.
