Thanks for all the advice on which bands are/aren't shoegaze on the other poll, guys! I've taken all your suggestions into account and removed the bands that aren't shoegaze, and now I've added a lot more that definitely are shoegaze. Enjoy!

I truly hope this is satisfactory.

stephen, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 17:51 (seventeen years ago)

Fuck you for not including Jeff Beck.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

What can I say, another "borderline" shoegaze artist. You should have spoken up sooner, Mr. Raggett.

stephen, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:10 (seventeen years ago)

I really like some songs by the "A" groups.

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:39 (seventeen years ago)

Where are Megadeth?

chap, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:40 (seventeen years ago)

No one mastered those effects pedals like Air Supply. Ah, the good old days...

Bimble, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:44 (seventeen years ago)

Out of this entire list, Alan Parsons was the only one who ever admitted that his work could be labelled as shoegaze.

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:49 (seventeen years ago)

Actually, wait, where's Quarterflash.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:51 (seventeen years ago)

Tin Machine. Haters are invited to suck a chubby.

BigLurks, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 19:36 (seventeen years ago)

No DBG, no credibility.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 1 May 2008 13:14 (seventeen years ago)

You left out Dave Matthews, dude.

Michael_Pemulis, Thursday, 1 May 2008 14:35 (seventeen years ago)

My "always vote for Kansas" rule has its moment in the sun!

Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 1 May 2008 15:57 (seventeen years ago)

M83 have more in common with these shoegaze bands than the ones on the other thread.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Thursday, 1 May 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

I came on here expecting some Drive By Truckers ,y'all.
Fuckin pussies

Fer Ark, Thursday, 1 May 2008 20:05 (seventeen years ago)

Thank you very much, NoTime. I got dead sick and tired of reading about M83 on that other thread. They're boring as hell.

No Bachmann Turner Overdrive, no credibility.

SeekAltRoute, Friday, 2 May 2008 11:43 (seventeen years ago)

Now that I realize the dragon is gazing at Yngwie's shoes the whole story makes sense to me!

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 2 May 2008 14:35 (seventeen years ago)

anyone have a guess who's gonna win the poll??? :)

stephen, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

Alan Parsons Project, 'cuz I heard "Eye In the Sky" in a Falafel place the other day. Still great, goes well with tatziki.

contenderizer, Friday, 2 May 2008 20:30 (seventeen years ago)

hey, where are JOURNEY? Or BOSTON?

The Real Dirty Vicar, Saturday, 3 May 2008 12:16 (seventeen years ago)

Why worry about Journey when you can vote for Bad English?

kingkongvsgodzilla, Saturday, 3 May 2008 12:56 (seventeen years ago)

Slightly disappointed that Millions of Dead Cops did not get a slot in the starting grid

Fer Ark, Saturday, 3 May 2008 14:36 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Sunday, 4 May 2008 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

This is actually a guilty pleasures poll more than a shoegazing poll. :)

All of those acts are sort of supposed to be bad, but Alan Parsons Project, ELP, Howard Jones and Kansas were all great. Voted Howard Jones.

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 4 May 2008 23:54 (seventeen years ago)

(And would have voted for Dodgy or Thompson Twins had you remembered to include any of those. Probably Ocean Colour Scene as well)

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 4 May 2008 23:54 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Monday, 5 May 2008 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

I can't believe people actually voted!

daavid, Monday, 5 May 2008 23:19 (seventeen years ago)

Wow, Primus won a poll.
