New Mark Stewart record out, called Edit. I like it! I'm kind of a sucker for anything he does. This record sounds like it could have come out in 1989, which I mean as a compliment. His voice is still fierce and nasty and cutting, and there's a duet with Ari Up called "Mister, You're a Better Man Than I" which sounds like 1978 all over again. Lots of enormous bass-drum hits and keyboards freaking out. Very good!

Is the duet a Yardbirds' cover?

two years pass...

i bought Edit eventually, but don't think i have ever got all the way through it.

this reads like John almsot didn't make it through the interview.

one year passes...

He has another new one due shortly titled Politics of Envy which has a slew of guest stars helping him out. Among them Keith Levene, Tessa & Viv from the Slits, Richard Hell and Kenneth Anger, of all people.

I haven't heard it yet but it could be interesting.

ten years pass...

after a period of disconnection, i ended up falling hard for Politics of Envy and especially its dub version, Exorcism of Envy.
Marks new album, Vs, came out today.
some of the names involved are pretty eye opening : front 242, stephen mallinder, consolidated, mike watt, kk null, lee scratch perry/on-u etc.
i think it's safe to say, age has not mellowed him one bit.
