Brass Construction were more consistent. So them. But they never recorded a song as great as "You Gave Me Love." Even there, though, the greatness lies only in those remarkable sections that surround the verse/chorus with Foxy-style chanting, Skatt Bros. power chords, and chit-chat-chattering funk. So proto-house if not proto-techno. And, unsurprisingly, that's the chunk Utah Saints lifted for their gorgeous "My Mind Must Be Free."

Yeah, MORE consistent. That's not the same as saying CHA weren't consistent. Maybe your cartoonish unpleasantness has everything to do with the fact that you don't actually read what people write.
