I'll start with an obvious one, Mariah's youtube name-drop in Touch My Body.

It's been hours seems like days, since you went away, And all I do is check the screen to see if you're ok. You don't answer when I phone, guess you wanna be left alone. So I'm sending my heart, my soul, and this is what I'll say:
I'm sorry, oh so sorry, can't you give me one more chance to make it all up to you. E-mail my heart and say our love will never die and that I know you're out there and I know that you still care. Email me back and say our love will stay alive. Forever, Email my heart.
Whoa I can see you in my mind, coming on the line And opening this letter that I've sent a hundred times. Here's a picture of us two, I look so good on you and can't you please forgive me for the hurt I put you through.
CHORUS
I'm sorry, oh so sorry, can't you give me one more chance to make it all up to (you).
E-mail my heart and say our love will never die and that I know you're out there and I know that you still care (I know that you still care...) Email me back and say our love will stay alive Forever (Won't ya say, Won't ya say) Forever, Forever Email my heart

Mi-Sex - Computer Games (1978)
I fidget with the digit dots and cry an anxious tear As the XU-1 connects the spot But the matrix grid don't care Get a message to my mother What number would she be There's a million angry citizens Looking down their tubes at me
Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter, puter games Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter-puter-puter, computer games
There's safety in numbers, they say 'Cause the figures never lie No perfect persons ever noticed one computer die I'm programmed to a schedule What will the answer be Is it suicide run till the work gets done 'Cause the matrix grid don't say
Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter, puter games Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter-puter-puter, computer games
Jammed up tight by red traffic lights Advance one level on green These opportune commuters They're blasting on their hooters I fidget with the digit dots Frustration rules out there As the XU-1 connects the spot But the matrix grid don't care
Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter, puter games Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter-puter-puter, computer games Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter-puter-puter, computer games Com-pu-pu-pu-pu-puter-puter-puter-puter, computer games Com-put-er Games

I AM CARRYING A TORCH FOR YOU BRITNEY CLEARY
It's interesting that hip-hop seems like the early adopter here. Anyone got any rock songs?
― makeitpop, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 00:08 (seventeen years ago)
No, but Brad Paisley kinda rocks:
I work down at the Pizza Pit And I drive an old Hyundai I still live with my mom and dad I'm 5 foot 3 and overweight I'm a scifi fanatic A mild asthmatic And I've never been to second base But there's whole ‘nother me That you need to see Go checkout MySpace
'Cause online I'm out in Hollywood I'm 6 foot 5 and I look damn good I drive a Maserati I'm a black-belt in karate And I love a good glass of wine It turns girls on that I’m mysterious I tell them I don't want nothing serious 'Cause even on a slow day I could have a three way Chat with two women at one time I’m so much cooler online So much cooler online
When I get home I kiss my mom And she fixes me a snack And I head down to my basement bedroom And fire up my Mac In real life the only time I’ve ever even been to L.A Is when I got the chance with the marching band To play tuba in the Rose Parade
Online I live in Malibu I pose for Calvin Klein, I've been in GQ I'm single and I'm rich And I've got a set of six pack abs that would blow your mind It turns girls on that I’m mysterious I tell them I don't want nothing serious 'Cause even on a slow day I could have a three way Chat with two women at one time I’m so much cooler online Yeah, I'm cooler online
When you got my kind of stats It’s hard to get a date Let alone a real girlfriend But I grow another foot and I lose a bunch of weight Every time I login
Online I’m out in Hollywood I’m 6 foot 5 and I look damn good Even on a slow day I could have a three way Chat with two women at one time I’m so much cooler online Yeah, I’m cooler online I’m so much cooler online Yeah, I’m cooler online
Yeah, I’m cooler online
Yeah, I’ll see ya online

'Greensleeves' (1580, unknown) was of course a lament about one man's loss of his Second Life girlfriend, Greensleeves DeCuir. However, I suppose that doesn't count, as it's an online environment, rather than a true internet application. Still, it was way ahead of its time - the word avatar meant something completely different back then.

"Hello," Poe (1995)
Hello, hello Are you out there? M.O.D. are you out there? I can't see your face But you left a trace on a data back-road That I almost erased Not even God takes this long to get back So get back 'Cause I hit a fork in the road I lost my way home I'm cut off from out main line Like a disconnected modem Hello Tap in the code I'll reach you below No one should brave the underworld alone Hello, hello, hello How do I reach you? Word has it on the wire That you don't who you are Well if you could jack into my brain You'd know exactly what you mean here Mothers are trails on stars in the night Fathers are black holes that suck up the light That's the memory I filed on the fringe Along with the memory of the pain you lived in Hello I don't have the password But the path is chainlinked So if you've got the time Set up the tone to sync Tap in the code I'll reach you below Hello, hello Are you out there
