I really want to go to Sonar but I've already got one Mediterranean festival trip planned for this summer and two seems a bit extravagant.

That lineup already looks awesome though - I heart Chloe.

I find this year's sonar deeply uninspiring.

I'm going! Then I'm going to Zaragoza for the world fair (it's about water!) Then Madrid for, well nothing.

i'll going to Barcelona. I'm a bit bummed about the lack of Kubik or Marbella beach party action (there are other beach parties happening in el Prat out by the airport). Most of the main clubs are doing the same old same old - but as usual the hunt is on for the hidden gems, which always in BCN beat out the obvious parties (last year's winner i think was a Dandy Jack/Butane party in a crackden in Poble Nou)

Somebody advise me on what to see in this bitch because I know an embarrasingly tiny amount about techno, I'm goint to Hercules and Love Affair, Pram, Yellow Swans, Ricardo Villalobos, El Guincho, Ewan Pearson, Roisín Murphy, a load of others but I'm afraid there are about a squillion highlights I'm gonna miss and I'm excited/nervous about this thing cos I just don't wanna miss the action. Can't wait to see MATMOS also, as they killed when I got to see them play in the Pompidou Centre (ooh yeah) and their new one finally clicked with me this afternoon. What about Dj scotch egg, he's on Load...?

Oh and please do it quick cos I've gotta pack soon and I'm flying tomorrow morning so....

Sonar was righteous this year, saw Black Dog set, bummed I missed Yellow Swans, more bummed I missed ilXors

I saw you at Placa Catalunya but resisted the urge to stalk!

No advice needed, you should have seen Yellow Swans because they were epic and definitely one of the tops although, ahem, Matmos were amazing and the crowd were weirdly respectful and great and picking highlights would be daft really because it was a hell of a weekend.

Wait, actually in the video on youtube you can see people at the back with their fingers in their ears, but where I was, everyone was super into it. Can you tell me whether or not the candle or the finger thing over the triangle did something with the sound or was that a performance thing because, well, it's been bothering me.

should really have started a new thread for this because it's going to plop to the bottom and then in a fortnight someone is going to create a Sónar 2009 thread or something.

giving it a miss due to a) the euro/pound horror and b) the attitude filled english turds who have ruined my last few trips

looking at that list theres a lot of bad music on this year

there's always a lot of bad music, that line-up is a lot better than the last time I went, in '07. Maybe the euro/pound horror will mean there's less brits! Here's hoping!
