Hahah, this is a poll I can get behind.

Yes.

I think this is the one song I wished I could have seen them do live the two times I saw 'em. All three songs on that single ("Pearly Dewdrops-Drop," "Pepper Tree," this) are pretty much the pinnacle of the early band.

It's track 11 on the Lullabies to Violaine box, disc 1, which is extra special because the packaging was actually made by small magical forest creatures, and they left a unique stamp on each almost-too-lovely copy, but to see it, you have to believe in small magical forest creatures. I bought that even though it added not a single song to my collection, just because I thought to myself, "This may be the last time I'll ever have the chance to buy such a meticulously packaged CD set, ever in my life." I should put it in a vault or something so the magic does not evaporate.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

Haha! I love Kenan's Cocteau Twins design fetish. I just got Treasure on vinyl again after like 20 years or whatever and was just aghast at the inside sleeve and inner labels etc...hell I'd probably fondle the vinyl itself if it wouldn't affect the sound quality!

But yeah I think Spangle Maker might have been the first Cocteau Twins song I ever heard. My jaw dropped to the floor - "what in the **HELL** is that??" Man, those kinds of moments with discovering new bands just don't happen to me anymore. And some people wonder why I never quit talking about my teenage years...
