worst itunes transition: jesus lizard --> TNV

69, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 20:39 (sixteen years ago)

i suppose i should get rip it off?

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 20:40 (sixteen years ago)

If you like the others, yeah, you should, but I got diminishing returns from it. I like the new STAY AWAKE ep, though.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 20:41 (sixteen years ago)

rip it off has some crucial tunes -- its def between that and dig yrself for me. paisley reich is awesome, but like an A- compared to a couple of A+'s. also its like a very unbalanced 19min, so it feels weird and top-heavy or something?

the stay awake EP is v v good, too; i agree.

69, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 20:46 (sixteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

i am very much enjoying their velvet covers show

suggban stevens (J0rdan S.), Monday, 23 February 2009 05:30 (sixteen years ago)

What is that?
Their cover of the Clean's "Anything Could Happen" on the Yeti 6 cd is good.

Trip Maker, Monday, 23 February 2009 16:09 (sixteen years ago)

the velvets tribute show is here. it's entertaining, pretty rough around the edges. parts of it highlight how all their noise usually covers up the fact that they are often horribly off-key. fortunately, being off-key on velvets tunes isn't that big a deal.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Monday, 23 February 2009 16:44 (sixteen years ago)

this is punk rock music, off-key is a-ok.

ian, Monday, 23 February 2009 16:49 (sixteen years ago)

two years pass...

listening to the new album streaming at npr

first impressions: it's not lo-fi & noisy

flopson, Tuesday, 19 April 2011 05:25 (fourteen years ago)

it's also pretty boring & tame, sounds like it could be any band in the world

wondering if this means they're dead to me now i guess so?

flopson, Tuesday, 19 April 2011 05:29 (fourteen years ago)

dont call it a falloff theyve been dead for years

─►.butt.tko (Lamp), Tuesday, 19 April 2011 05:30 (fourteen years ago)

good point

flopson, Tuesday, 19 April 2011 05:33 (fourteen years ago)

don't really mind the hi-fi vs. lo-fi but after Rip It Off they mostly ran outta tunes imo

curious to hear 69's take, I think he was still on board with Born Again Revisited ... ?

dmr, Wednesday, 20 April 2011 00:25 (fourteen years ago)

ya its more about, no energy no life to it

flopson, Wednesday, 20 April 2011 04:31 (fourteen years ago)

lo-fi is just a metaphor
