This album is the best thing in the world to me right now. Brilliant songs & immaculate production.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 30 May 2008 02:32 (seventeen years ago)

Someday, this will get the same deluxe treatment of _Two Wheels Good_. I have faith.

scampering alpaca, Friday, 30 May 2008 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

Trayce, Friday, 30 May 2008 04:13 (seventeen years ago)

Flying North is the best damn song he ever did.

Bimble, Friday, 30 May 2008 04:45 (seventeen years ago)

I must give it a whirl tonight when I get home.

Trayce, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:07 (seventeen years ago)

Trayce, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:07 (seventeen years ago)

I voted "Flying North" too.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:08 (seventeen years ago)

i love "flying north", but about 25 years ago i was mildly obesessed with "one of our submarines," so i voted for that.

tipsy mothra, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:15 (seventeen years ago)

this is such a reagan/thatcher cold war album.

tipsy mothra, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:17 (seventeen years ago)

Holy crap what a great album. I'm going with Europa.

kate78, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:59 (seventeen years ago)

Europa because it's so very dark.

moley, Friday, 30 May 2008 07:20 (seventeen years ago)

One Of Our Submarines, but so many great tracks on this.

__CB__, Sunday, 1 June 2008 09:04 (seventeen years ago)

Went w/Europa but Airwaves is a fave too.

This man is the funnest singer to imitate.

Abbott, Sunday, 1 June 2008 22:29 (seventeen years ago)

He played in Boise right before I moved and I was SO SAD bcz I did not know & missed it. Did catch ABC tho. :D

Abbott, Sunday, 1 June 2008 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

"Airwaves". Some wonderful chord changes in there. The entire album is ace though.

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 1 June 2008 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 6 June 2008 23:18 (seventeen years ago)

Wow...I think I'm gonna buy some shares in One Of Our Submarines. I can't really remember the texture of that one at all...I'll listen to it right now.

Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You, Saturday, 7 June 2008 06:36 (seventeen years ago)

Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You, Saturday, 7 June 2008 06:38 (seventeen years ago)

We have triumphed over the random googlers with 10 CD's to their name!

Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You, Saturday, 7 June 2008 06:42 (seventeen years ago)

BTW, can we please talk about Cloudburst At Shingle Street now?

Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You, Saturday, 7 June 2008 06:44 (seventeen years ago)

submarines has a good video too.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 7 June 2008 06:48 (seventeen years ago)

i had not listened to this since the mid 80s. i forgot about its use of nyc metro references (where i listened to it at the time). that seemed odd to me on rehearing.

christ one of our submarines so great

Hunt3r, Saturday, 7 June 2008 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

woah, this album's great, how did I miss it. There are definitely hints of Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, weirdly enough.

burt_stanton, Sunday, 8 June 2008 01:33 (seventeen years ago)

Dolby just posted this on his blog
http://blog.thomasdolby.com/?p=544

Oh and more news: I recently agreed terms with EMI to re-release my first two albums! Looks like they will be in some sort of ‘enhanced’ format, possibly including alternative mixes and B-sides. This should happen early in 2009.

Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 12 June 2008 01:25 (seventeen years ago)

OH, SWEET HAPPY DAY!

scampering alpaca, Thursday, 12 June 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

brimstead, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 03:02 (one year ago)

I always read "Wreck of the Fairchild" as "Wreck of the Fairlight," figuring that the keyboard probably crashed a lot.

Hideous Lump, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 06:01 (one year ago)

One of my all-time favorite albums, somehow I've never gotten sick of "She Blinded Me With Science" either.
