Sounds good on first listen. Anyone else listening?

When it loads in iTunes, the artist shows as "The Nerds."

I like about half of it, especially "You Know What."

I thought Fly or Die had some interesting moments, though not everything worked. I'd be curious to hear this at some point.

jaxon, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 19:58 (seventeen years ago)

Lots of yacht rock influence.

jaxon, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 20:50 (seventeen years ago)

Bernie Taupin? You mean the guy who wrote this?

If you choose to, you can live your life alone
Some people choose the city; some others choose the good old family home
I like livin' easy without family ties
Until the whippoorwill of freedom zapped me right between the eyes

Couple of power ballads on there.

It's OK, 'Sooner or Later' is especially a good song.

zeus, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 21:53 (seventeen years ago)

great parts all over this album but the songs dont have much direction or purpose.

titchyschneiderMk2, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 22:27 (seventeen years ago)

and theres a few too many obviously jacked riffs.

titchyschneiderMk2, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 22:28 (seventeen years ago)

I like the two-or-three-discrete-parts/movements thing in some of these songs.

"Sooner or Later" = the Nerds' "You're So Vain."

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Thursday, 12 June 2008 04:13 (seventeen years ago)

i don't actually listen to elton john

jaxon, Thursday, 12 June 2008 04:36 (seventeen years ago)

Sorry, the "You're So Vain" song is "Yeah You."

I really like this. I keep thinking that it's like the breezy summer pop album Sound of Silver could have been but wasn't (and I'm fine with that).

DLee, Wednesday, 18 June 2008 19:35 (seventeen years ago)

"Spaz" is a late entry to summer jam 2008. Go, Zune ad, go!

Whiney G. Weingarten, Wednesday, 18 June 2008 19:45 (seventeen years ago)

some of it is like the black answer to limp bizkit and co. some of it is brilliant. but a lot of it needs better songs.

titchyschneiderMk2, Wednesday, 18 June 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

Overall I am really enjoying this. It's a lot of fun and very summery.

ENBB, Wednesday, 18 June 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

three weeks pass...

The nose song sounds like "Hot Music".

The Reverend, Sunday, 13 July 2008 07:20 (seventeen years ago)

Is the beginning of this intentionally supposed to recall Busta's "Gimme Some Mo'"?

The Reverend, Sunday, 13 July 2008 07:26 (seventeen years ago)

two years pass...

For the record: "Hypnotize U" is great.
