if you guys turn a Mase thread into a lame fucking political argument your cards are getting pulled permanently

J0hn D., Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

I can't hear u Hoos, i see smart rap as money empires, like what 50 will create, or at least cells within america gaining access to an industry that will welcome their ideals

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:26 (seventeen years ago)

WOO HAH

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:27 (seventeen years ago)

jd, i'm just setting the table when mase was pop, french designers diddy brought in, not being above or independent, being rejected by the mainstream underground except when ppl were patient enough to dig through the corpocratic invasion of the industry forced them to be, the smartones the indviduals who struggled out and the faggots who embrace gay style

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:29 (seventeen years ago)

not to belittle BIG, who rapped right around it

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:30 (seventeen years ago)

got enveloped in it, and got killed

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:30 (seventeen years ago)

whose the heros in this tragedy, thats the integrity and mysticism of rap. what will this dialog result in

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:31 (seventeen years ago)

hip hop aint a music trend, its a manifestation and conversation of oppressed groups within society. chicken sufferage

usic, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:33 (seventeen years ago)

I'm almost glad I got the clean version cause it woulda been weird hearing the dirty versions of all these middle school jams

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:36 (seventeen years ago)

the mainstream underground

J0hn D., Sunday, 15 June 2008 00:38 (seventeen years ago)

two years pass...

Finally got this. My issues with the dude prior were his marblemouthed drawl and appearing on tracks with better rappers, but this shits solid.

He isn't any Nas or anything but his rhymes are simple yet catchy and effective, production pretty subdued for a late 90s Bad Boy album...if anything I would have liked a more glitzy production.

Wonder if his kids will get grounded if caught listening to this.

Coincidentally just found a copy of this with a cracked cd case in my local library's dollar bin right on the record's anniversary. Never heard it before but it sounds fun!
