For me it's between "High Fidelity", "Temptation" and "New Amsterdam". Going for the latter.

"Love For Tender" = Smokey Robinson on lots of cheap speed, and I love it to bits.

lol, i wish i hadn't used up my 'great karaoke track' line on the Armed Forces poll because it counts double for 'Riot Act'. possibly my favourite Elvis C song on definitely my favourite of his albums. the conceit behind the album was great and they really made it work, i think.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 30 June 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

"Riot Act." The demo version on the Rhino CD is also great.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Monday, 30 June 2008 05:39 (seventeen years ago)

I had no idea "Riot Act" was thought of so highly. It was always kinda a decent closer but not a favorite for me.

That's Side One for me, so it's actually at the middle of the album.

Praise the Lord, someone else. I can't listen to it any other way. My fave Elvis record and one of my faves by anyone. Couldn't pick a favorite, don't think.

New Amsterdam.
Also 'Motel Matches', 'Secondary Modern' and 'Black and White World' could be world beaters too.
