This is a total needle in a haystack thing but I have to try. I heard this track at a party and I was pretty trashed so I don't remember any of the lyrics, but it had female harmonies (as opposed to a single vocalist, not that this narrows it down!) and a really distinctive shuffling, almost-skanking beat, emphasis on the off-beat. I am so bad at describing music!
Any clue? It's probably a really big tune because I haven't really been keeping up as of late.
Love you guys!

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's not necessarily a single vocalist -- at this point there are so few current girl groups in R&B, even fewer that actually harmonize, but a fair number of solo singers that layer their own harmonies pretty well. Only thing recent that i can think off that might fit your description is maybe "Need U Bad" by Jazmine Sullivan, which is a long shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR9E5VYagFA

Sorry! Yeah, you were wrong, but thanks! Too reggae, not fast slick rnb enough!

not a single, just an album track so it's probably not it, but... Danity Kane's Lights Out, by any chance?

More likely to be Danity Kane's Damaged, maybe?
