Baseball cap != hair, otherwise we'd be knee-deep in Fred Durst photos.

Come on people, Sinead O'Conner. Minimal hairdo to the extreme.

nathalie, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Brian Molko?

anyone?

obecalp, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

For my generation (or possibly just me), it's Roy Wood every time (sorry, I never manage to post images here!), no contest. More recently, Kelis's rainbow afro was gorgeous. The hair I most wanted to touch when adolescent: Marc Bolan's.

Martin Skidmore, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh come now, children, surely it's obvious......

That left one is trying to be Gonzales. Obviously he's failing. Thank god for him!

nathalie, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I thought the John Sex post was gonna be Arthur's... who else knows about this freak... besides other freaks, of course.

Sean, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes. At the moment. And chances are he'll have lost a large chunk of it by 30, since his hairline is already receding. He brushes it forward and makes it really poofy so few notice.

Poor guy. but i'm sure he'll find a good surgeon to give him transplants.

sandrine quimby, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I only know about John Sex thanks to a random ad found in a 1986/87 era Billboard issue -- my eleventh grade history teacher subscribed and brought in his copies. We marveled at his hairstyle and the fact he had a song called "Hustle to My Muscle" (and that the ad quoted the chorus in full).

Ned Raggett, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You forgot to tell Sean that your nickname in high school was Ned Sex. Here's Eugune from the Rezillos/Revillos. Not quite as spectacular as John Sex, but he probably had the do first.

No Dr. & the Medics photos yet?

Arthur, Friday, 10 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You forgot to tell Sean that your nickname in high school was Ned Sex.

All too true. Somehow after contemplation of the ad, this concept came up. It wasn't my only nickname, mind you -- I preferred Brain-on-a- Stick and the Ned Kennedys.
