Is "Ballad Of The Band" by Charlatans a cover of the FELT song?

I liked that song "A Man Needs TO Be Told"... I use to love the Charlatans from SOME FRIENDLY and BETWEEN 10th and 11th but lost interest after UP TO OUR HIPS....then, I hear A MAN NEEEDS TO BE TOLD and looked up the lp on amazon...I saw "Ballad Of The Band" and wondered if it is the FELT song.. I LOVE FELT!

Any truth to the rumors that Lawrence is fatally ill? Supposedly he has been quite ill for some time and is not expected to live for much longer. I hope this is untrue.

The above post has ruined my day. Where did you hear this distressing news?

I just downloaded it and played the first 10 seconds. it's just another crappy Charlatans original.

Supposedly, Robin Carmody is the one who said he knew what was really going on with Lawrence.

There are perennial rumours that Lawrence is ill or dead or what-have-you. Whenever I've checked he's been alive.

Yes, please check again. And maybe ask him if there's any truth to the rumour that A. McGee has commissioned an album from him.

Wasn't he going to die of boredom tho'?

Don't know anything about Laughing Larry's health (hope there's no truth in the rumours, obviously), but yes, there is/was a solo Lawrence record on the cards at Poptones He was certainly asked, tho' I don't think it's been started yet. Apparently, it was to be a "serious singer/songwriter LP", something of a contrast to prety much every other record he's made in the past 12 years.

Just say no, kids.
